Do you feel a lack of drive or motivation in achieving a goal? Perhaps even a relationship with a friend or family member that you find it hard to approach? This meditation will provide you with the space to reflect and explore what your intentions are, and what feelings might be blocking you from moving forward. You might like to listen a few times, even with a notepad handy to jot down what arises. May you find the motivation to move forward towards the life you deserve. Hello this is Paul and I'd like to welcome you to this meditation on motivation.

Sometimes when we feel a lack of drive or motivation around something but we don't actually give ourselves the space to reflect and explore on it well then we can't actually get really clear on what's blocking us.

So today let's make some space and explore this together.

So let's begin by taking a moment and settling into our bodies in a really comfortable position.

You can be seated or lying down.

You may like to close your eyes or keep them slightly open with a soft focus looking downward a few feet in front of you and just allowing your shoulders to soften and just take a nice deep breath down into your belly and a slow breath out and two more deep breaths into your belly and slow breaths out.

No need to rush.

Just allow the mind to rest on your breath and now call to mind something where you might feel a lack of motivation around.

Perhaps it's a task at work or a project you've been putting off at home.

Maybe it's repairing a relationship issue with a friend or a family member.

It could be around fitness or eating.

Whatever comes to mind and feels right for you.

So as you envision this issue listen to the questions I'll be asking lightly and just see what comes up.

There's no need to figure anything out right now and if nothing comes to mind just continue to focus on your breath and notice what's thoughts arise and just allowing them to pass through and not getting too attached to these thoughts.

So just remaining with a nice light focus.

So ask yourself when it comes to this issue what is my greatest aspiration?

What is it about this issue that's most important to me?

What might be getting in the way of me addressing this issue?

How do I want to show up in relationship to this issue?

So just notice how you feel when you consider these questions.

Are there any specific sensations in your body?

And just remember there is nothing to figure out here just notice what comes up naturally.

And so if this issue was in progress or even completed what would that mean to me?

If this issue was in progress or completed what would that feel like?

See if you can really tune into that feeling allowing yourself to fully absorb it.

As you experience these feelings of accomplishment consider how you can access this place again the next time you face this issue.

How might you use these feelings as a source of focus?

Can these feelings serve as a motivation for you to engage?

And finally ask yourself what is my intention going forward?

And let's finish now with a full deep breath in and a long slow breath out.

And I'd like to thank you and congratulate you for being brave and reflecting on these issues.

You might even like to listen to this meditation again with a notepad and pen and actually write down what naturally comes up for you.
