Three Poems for Inspiring Wonder My appreciation for poetry is growing as my meditation practice continues.

I have been reading poetry on my Insight Timer live sessions for several years now,

And many in the group have encouraged me to put these in a recording.

So today,

Here are three poems for inspiring wonder from two of my favorite poets,

Mary Oliver and Rosemary Watola Traumer.

I invite you to settle in and get cozy.

All you have to do is listen and feel the words moving inside you.

You can listen to just one poem or all three.

Enjoy.

Why I Wake Early by Mary Oliver Hello,

Sun in my face.

Hello,

You who make the morning and spread it over the fields and into the faces of the tulips and the nodding morning glories and into the windows of even the miserable and crotchety best preacher that ever was,

Dear star that just happens to be where you are in the universe to keep us from ever darkness to ease us with warm touching to hold us in the great hands of light good morning,

Good morning,

Good morning watch now how I start the day in happiness,

In kindness So notice any sensations,

Emotions,

Or thoughts that may have arisen with the energy of this beautiful poem.

How It Might Continue by Rosemary Watola Traumer Wherever we go,

The chance for joy whole orchards of amazement one more reason to always travel with our pockets full of exclamation marks so we might scatter them for others like apple seeds Some will dry out,

Some will blow away but some will take root and grow exuberant groves filled with long,

Thin fruits that resemble one hand clapping so much enthusiasm as they flutter back and forth that although nothing's heard and though nothing's really changed people everywhere for years to come will swear that the world is ripe with applause will fill their own pockets with new seeds to scatter As you imagine scattering exclamation marks through your day what happens inside you?

And have you ever discovered an exclamation mark left by someone else?

So remember to keep your pockets full of exclamation marks so that you may scatter them for others like apple seeds Last Night the Rain Spoke to Me by Mary Oliver Last night the rain spoke to me slowly saying what joy to come falling out of a brisk cloud to be happy again in a new way on the earth That's what it said as it dropped smelling of iron and vanished like a dream of the ocean into the branches and the grass below Then it was over.

The sky cleared.

I was standing under a tree.

The tree was a tree with happy leaves and I was myself and there were stars in the sky that were also themselves At the moment,

At which moment my right hand was holding my left hand which was holding the tree which was filled with stars and the soft rain Imagine,

Imagine the long and wondrous journeys still to be ours Savor the beauty of these words you have received today and stay curious as to how they continue to move through you throughout your day or into your night and sleep Thanks so much for listening and savoring with me today Take care

I loved all f them. The first one was powerful since I felt the sun on my face (as one of my favorite sensations when I go out ). Always grateful to you, dear BhanuπŸ™
