A very big aloha.
My name is Reverend Cindy Pollos and I wanted to talk about perspectives.
And it's all relative,
Bringing our relatives into this.
You know what was making me think about this actually has been that it's been raining here on Maui for a few days and they expect it to rain a few more days.
And everyone's like,
Wow,
Because all this rain,
My gosh,
We're going to do all kinds of alerts.
And I have a friend who lives in Seattle and she says,
That's nothing.
I mean,
We get weather like that all the time.
What are you people freaking out about?
Well,
For us,
You know,
It's like,
Well,
We don't usually get this kind of weather.
Of course,
We see that the weather's changing,
But our perspective is very interesting.
This made me think about also how what we think is relative to other places in the world.
Our life here in Maui is very nice.
Our life in the United States is pretty nice compared to what you'd have if you were living in Africa,
In a lot of places of Africa or in other places where there's wars.
But,
You know,
It's relative.
Again,
We expect a certain amount of our lifestyle to be maintained.
So our relative point of view is very much based on what we expect our life to be like.
And if we take the same concept and take it and expand it into the spiritual realms,
An interesting thing may happen because all my life,
Well,
Since I've been 13,
All my life has been more interested in finding out what's going on in the introspective,
Meditative state inside.
And as you go there and you start to realize how expansive that inner state is,
When you can connect with not just your mind,
But also to your soul,
And then from your soul,
How you can connect with everyone's soul,
The universal soul.
And then from there,
How we can connect with what's going on in the universe,
The universal energy.
And what's interesting is as we're expanding our inner awareness of this,
We are also finding that people are exploring outer space and beyond into the universe and beyond.
It's a fascinating journey that we're seeing happening as we're starting to realize what life is like in other places beyond just this universe.
And as we see this,
We start to get our deeper perspective,
Realizing,
You know,
How small this particular planet is relative to what's going on in the whole universe and beyond.
So the solar system is quite amazing in itself,
Right?
And we're starting to understand more and more of how we were limiting our awareness of other places in the universe based on our own limitations,
Thinking,
Oh,
They couldn't have this or that.
And then we find out,
Oh my gosh,
There's a lot more going on in Mars than we knew.
There's a lot more going on in Venus.
There's a lot more going on than we might ever have imagined,
Right?
And we're just beginning to touch that.
We're going to find more and more that there's so much more going on than we might have been aware with as we start to understand how different energy fields work.
So this is the journey that you begin to take when you look inside and meditate,
The interconnecting with the universal,
The universal connecting with the cosmic,
And that cosmic opening that door to a different perspective of a higher reality.
Now,
This can be an interesting rabbit hole to jump down,
But having jumped down it a few times,
It comes back to that fact that you still have to take that perspective and even a higher,
Deeper perspective and put it to work in your life.
So it's really easy to get wanting to get distracted by higher perspective.
And when you meditate,
You can certainly start to do that,
But it comes back to,
Okay,
That's what you experience in meditation.
Now,
I've always found it very,
Very helpful to take a few moments and write down what I'm getting when I'm meditating.
Again,
With the concept in mind that I'm helping to bridge that awareness from my conscious mind to the higher consciousness.
Now,
If you take that one more step,
This is an important step into how we live our lives.
How kind are we?
How forgiving are we?
How caring are we?
How generous are we?
The basic principles that are taught,
And I know in Christianity,
I'm not as familiar with other religions,
But it's basic concepts in many religions to be a good person and to try to maintain that gift.
Now,
I've been very blessed on my life since I've been in radio,
Since I was very young to do interviews with some of the top spiritual,
Well,
People who have been around a long time,
Written many books and have made the circuit and done talks around the world.
I've had many,
Many conversations with some of the highest teachers.
And the thing is that I found I became friends with a few of them.
And while some of them were just amazing as far as their awareness spiritually,
For them to try to live it on a personal day-to-day basis in their personal life was still challenging for most of them.
For most of them,
They found it extremely challenging still.
And this to me also made a deep,
Deep impression because walking your talk is part of the process as well.
And if you can't really live what you are learning,
Then there's a lot of steps to take to try to make that happen and beginning to integrate your inner awareness into your outer life.
And having seen this and experienced this for years,
I have found that some of the people who may not be amazing booksellers or authors or very high-paid talkers on the spiritual realm,
Some of the people who are kind of not as famous,
But just living it and being it and working it,
They were sometimes the ones that I was respecting and really deeply appreciating as much.
You don't have to be famous and you don't have to be a multi-million bookseller to take the principles and to put it to work in your life.
And I might dare say that even having seen some of these people and been friends with some of these people,
That it became a distraction to the point where the temptations were higher to do things like play around on their wife or husband and do things like get egotistical and do things that really can happen when you get to that level or people just wishing to be around you and honor you and they have groupies.
There's many spiritual groupies out with some of these people.
So I've seen this and realized it's really not about how famous you are.
It's how you live your life and what kind of person are you.
Are you a good person?
Are you a kind person?
Are you able to take what you get inside in meditation and put it to work in your life and develop your life?
And that is such a beautiful thing that is the base of what we need in this world today.
And I do think as we're seeing so many challenges going on in the world that we need more people just to be able to live their good lives and not get brought into the drama of what's going on in the world that is causing so much negativity sometimes.
We have to take the energy of the positive energy that people such as you are taking and learning to use to balance out some of the energy that's going on out there.
So that was what I wanted to tell you today is don't underestimate your connection,
Your way of living,
Your beingness,
The importance of your ability to take these principles and connect with what you get inside and put it to work in your life.
I think it's so valuable and so important and I am very,
Very grateful to you for taking the time to listen and to understand and to do what you need to do to help the world situation.
I bow in deepest gratitude and love.
Thank you so much.
