Transcript

The poem that my sister Connie wrote,

I would like to read for you now.

It's called Windfall by Connie Clavin.

My mother races to the wind chimes,

Brushes through with dance,

Swirls to the top of the mighty oak,

Bending back its branch,

Then leaps to hug a snowflake fall and rides her silent friend to wherever it blows,

Wherever it goes,

Then gets up and does it again.

My mother sprints to the ocean to clang the bell buoy offshore.

Wave after wave she sits and drifts on her own accord.

She reaches for a passing gull and matches its wings to hers.

Singing and swinging she blends earth and sky till harmony settles,

The horizon sighs.

My mother,

My mother,

With no more to tend,

Is free at last riding the wind.

This poem also set her free as well as my sister and me.

It was an extraordinary experience.

I love you mom.

Thank you.

I wanted to listen to all 8 before review as the story was completed. Thankyou for sharing a most intimate experience. Truly courageous to share globally. As I am nearing the anniversary of my father's passing...a truly special man in my life I experience waves of sadness. Your story has helped me to reflect, cry, forgive and experience joy and smiles too. Grief is the physical release of loss yet in my heart his spirit is free. The poem was also a reflection of his spirit as white feathers and Robins are his message to me. Bless you. Namaste 😇 😇 😇

Thank you for sharing. I just lost my father unexpectedly & thinking of him as free & unbound has been very helpful. Loved your sister's beautiful expression of this idea.

Truly beautiful. Made me want to cry, but really got my imagination going as you read the poem and I envisioned what you were saying. I am so sorry for your loss, and can't imagine what you are going through, for my mom is still with us and will be 81 this year. May Spirit comfort you and give you peace more and more each day.
