Tucker & Leo's Thanksgiving - Children's Meditation Story

Try and lay down and be still,

As still as a statue and as quiet as a mouse.

This Tucker and Leo story gets a little bit silly but it's gonna get relaxing at the end so you can chill out,

Let go of your day and hopefully fall to sleep and have sweet sweet dreams.

Are you ready for Tucker and Leo's Thanksgiving Day?

Leo was hiding in the corner,

The house was chock-a-block-a full,

It was absolutely packed.

All of his mum's family had come,

All of his dad's side of the family had come over,

There must be at least 30 people in the house.

He did not like it at all.

Oh there's so many,

There's so many of them,

There's so many of them.

As he was scratching his ears talking to Tucker,

Why do they have to be so many of them?

Said Leo.

I would be okay if there was just like maybe three of them but 30 of them?

It's absolutely ridiculous.

I can't breathe and I can feel them all and they're all making me itch and they're all so noisy.

Why do they have to be so noisy?

Tucker said,

Oh come on Leo,

You know what dad's family's like,

They're always shouting and laughing and shouting and laughing and it's like who can laugh the loudest and who can tell the most jokes and who and who's done this and who's done that and and they have to catch up for all of the year where they haven't seen each other and they're just loud,

They're just loud but they're fun,

Come on Leo,

They're fun,

They're always happy and jolly and laughing.

Leo said that's the problem,

They're always happy and jolly and laughing and all of that stands for loud and when they do it so loud it hurts my ears.

Even baby Ellie doesn't like it,

Look at baby Ellie.

Baby Ellie who was now two was stood in the living room with her hands over her ears.

She was smiling but she still couldn't understand why it was so loud.

Tucker said Ellie's smiling,

She's fine,

Don't worry about Ellie,

She likes people.

Leo said well I don't and I'd much rather be going out for a walk and I don't even like going out for walks but I'd rather be out walking than be in this house right now.

Tucker said well you know I could always do a walk,

I do like to get out in the neighborhood and meet all those tasty looking little puppies,

I really do like it.

Maybe if we keep looking at dad or if we keep looking at mum and we kind of whine and use our big puppy eyes,

You know they can't stand our puppy eyes.

Leo started laughing I'm really good with the puppy eyes he said.

Yeah you are Leo,

You've got the like the bestest big,

Soft baby seal eyes and they look so sad and every time you see them when you do that thing we are where they look so big and so sad you just want to feed you or take you for a walk or pet you because you look so sad.

Let's do it Leo,

Let's do our baby seal puppy eyes and then and then someone will notice and then and then hopefully mum or dad will take us out for a walk and then we'll be able to get out because I'm kind of hungry.

I think if we go out for a walk then maybe we'll see some nice little Thanksgiving puppies and maybe they'll be really thankful to me just because and they'll let me chew on them a little bit you know just a little bit.

I don't want to hurt them but I do like to have a little bit of a chew and a snack and I pretend that I'm gonna eat them you know.

Leo said if we go out for a walk you know it stresses me out if you attack the other dogs.

Please don't attack the other dogs,

Promise me.

Oh I don't know about that said Tucker.

Leo said promise.

Oh okay I promise since it's Thanksgiving you know we're gonna have so much food later.

Leo said yeah and it's probably gonna give me hives.

Oh Leo stop moaning be thankful it's Thanksgiving Day we got an house full of people that love us and and and and and we've got lots and lots of food it smells so delicious I could smell it all cooking already.

Mum's been cooking it since early early early this morning and I've been pacing around the kitchen waiting for her to drop things.

She's been dropping all sorts of stuff I've had carrots,

I've had potatoes,

I've had a sprout,

I've had all sorts of snacks already and so I can't wait till it's actually cooked because then it's gonna be really really delicious and with all these people you know there's gonna be so so much left over because mind you you know dad's family likes to eat they like to chew a lot and eat a lot so they might not be that much left over from them but mum's family sometimes they're not so hungry and they'll leave things.

I can eat the potatoes I like the mashed potatoes said Leo but everything else just gives me gas or makes me scratch especially them sprouts I cannot eat those sprouts they just make me blow up like a balloon and then I've got irritable bowel syndrome going on and and then and then and then I don't know whether I'm going to toot or whether I'm going to go to the toilet and I'm gonna oh those sprouts are not good oh I like the sprouts said Tucker I think it's really fun when all your belly started popping and growling and making funny noises and then when you do smelly smelly smelly really really smelly toots everybody in the house goes ooh ooh that's not nice and everybody blames each other and it's really you that's tooting because of all the vegetables it's so much fun Leo said that is actually quite funny I do like to do that and watch who blames who but no no I'd like to go out for a walk let's do the puppy dog eyes both Leo and Tucker started to stare up at their mom and up at their dad with the puppy dog eyes wagging their tails mum said what is it Leo what do you want Leo pulled his bestest puppy seal eyes ever they were so big and round and sad looking Oh Leo his mom said what is it what do you want don't go out for a walk all of a sudden Leo knew it was success started wagging his tail really fast and Tucker started spinning in circles barking yes we were to go out for a walk yay I told you you were so good at that Leo it didn't take very long at all before mummy knew exactly what you were doing okay well I'm too busy right now said Leo and Tucker's mom but I'll get your dad to take you he can take you out with one of his brothers when they got outside it was nice to just have no loud talking no loud laughing no hustle and bustle people stepping on your tail or stepping on your feet Ellie was going with them in the pram looked like she wanted to get out of the house too so they were all walking down the street it was a nice fresh brisk day not too cold but the fresh crisp air around your face felt just right cleansing almost like you were walking into the refrigerator to take a big deep breath and get out of all the craziness around you the dogs walked really nice next to their dad the dad and his brother were chatting away talking about work and life and kids and everything else and Ellie who was now talking a lot more kept stroking Leo and stroking Tucker when they walked up by the side of the pram and she kept saying okay baby it's okay baby here you go baby then she would feed them her little snacks that she had on a tray life was good going for a walk Leo thought oh thank goodness we could get out of the house and get some peace and quiet and then coming towards them was some random person with two little dogs snapping away barking already at Leo and Tucker coming their way uh-oh thought Leo Tucker started growling jumping at the end of the lead barking as loud as he could just let me just let me at him just let me at him just let me just I just want to show him just a little bit oh go on dad let me just let out the lead just a little bit if you'll just let out the lead just a little bit then I'll be able to bite him I'll be able to bite him and I could chew and I won't eat him I promise I promise Leo I won't hurt anyone but I just want to chew him I wonder what they taste like you know if we get close enough I'll be able to smell their Thanksgiving dinner on them oh go on dad go on let me oh Leo and took his dad pulled Tucker away from the puppies and kept walking almost Adam said Tucker Leo said you promised you weren't gonna try and eat any of the puppies you know it stresses me out I can't help it said Tucker I can't I can't help it I can't help it Leo it's in my blood I just want to chew him Leo rolled his eyes at Tucker and they kept walking it was like Ellie knew that he was stressed okay baby she kept rubbing his head it's okay baby you're okay yeah baby eat it baby eat it she kept giving him his little puffs that she had on a tray they were very nice and he didn't happen to be allergic to the puffs which was thank goodness something Leo wasn't allergic to all was well again it was nice and quiet until someone else random came along with a big giant dog this time Leo thought what's the odds that you would see so many people you think that I'll be home eating the Thanksgiving dinner Tucker said as he started barking pulling at his lead and trying to get to this big giant dog this time Tucker had absolutely no fear he would try and eat anything even a dog three or four sizes bigger than him he started barking really loud and attacking the other big dog luckily the other big dog was very chilled out he looked at Leo and said what's wrong with him Leo said to the other big dog oh it's like it all the time he just thinks he can eat everything he sees Tucker said let me at him let me at him I can do it I could I could I could open me out my mouth really really really really really wide and I could just have one big bite let me just have one big bite I could get it I could take him I don't care if he's bigger than me I can do it I could do it let me get let me let me until Tucker's dad eventually calmed him down and pulled him away the big dog walking past Leo rolled his eyes and Leo rolled his eyes at the big dog happy Thanksgiving said the big dog yeah said Leo you too the rest of the walk was quiet thank goodness no little dogs no big dogs no cats no squirrels nothing that could possibly tempt Tucker into a rampage Ellie kept stroking both of them okay ducky it's okay puppy it's okay it's okay it's okay baby it's okay she kept rubbing their heads and feeding them more and more snacks it was a lovely walk but unfortunately it couldn't last forever they had to go back home in the midst of all of those crazy laughing loud people Tucker was happy to be in the middle of all of them waiting for people to drop things Leo was in his bed in the corner just hiding away hopefully no one would see him or touch him they just leave him alone Tucker was singing his Thanksgiving song which was very very annoying thought Leo yes I'm happy because there's lots and lots of food yep I'm grateful cuz there's lots and lots of love and people yeah I'm happy cuz there's lots and lots of food yep I'm grateful cuz there's lots of loving people over and over and over and over and over and over and over Ellie liked it when Tucker sang to her it just sounded like he was barking and moaning and going around in circles wagging his tail but Leo knew exactly what he was saying Leo sighed put his head down and just hoped he could sleep maybe he could have a long nap a really really long nap and then when he woke up everybody had gone home he was thankful he was thankful for Tucker thankful for his mom and dad and thankful for baby Ellie and everyone else in the family that he loved but all of these other people in the family oh he could do without too many of them too loud too noisy he closed his eyes started to dream about being on a cloud in the middle of nowhere the cloud happened to be made of puffs Ellie's puffs of snacks that he wasn't allergic to and every time he felt like it he would just lean over and chew on a part of the cloud and lay down and rest his weary head relax his body maybe dream a little bit so his paws would run and move and twitch while he was asleep it was a lovely cloud he would call it his Thanksgiving cloud he was thankful for his cloud thankful for the peace and the quiet and Ellie's puffs yeah they were really nice and he would eventually just drift off in the middle of all the chaos Thanksgiving day with a house full of family and people that were loud and laughing but they all loved each other that was something to be thankful for you thought the end you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you
