Now,
Realizing that who we are as we exist today is the most important.
We often get wrapped up in future planning.
We hear about what is your five-year plan,
What are your long-term goals,
But what happened to today and now?
Where is the importance and where should our best efforts be placed?
I invite you to close the windows of your eyes and get really comfortable with your body and your breath.
Sit somewhere where you can be at attention but also relaxed into your softness.
Taking a big breath in and out.
Starting to breathe down into the body.
Maybe there are small minute parts that you're uncomfortable with.
Maybe there's something on your mind that you've been struggling with.
And I ask you very simply,
How does the body react to what you're feeling?
How does that impact today and now?
Not the you that exists 30 minutes from now or tomorrow or next month.
But how is how you're feeling,
How you physically show up,
What you're thinking,
How does that impact who you are here in this moment?
As you exist right now is the most important and accurate version of who you are.
Everything that predated today was character building.
It was molding and shaping and forming who you are.
It was building experience,
Tolerance,
Compassion,
Kindness.
But those things have already happened.
We can't change them,
But we can learn and we can grow from them.
They build who we are.
They have come together in their various iterations to build the current version of who you are.
So those pieces are important.
But the version of you that has yet to exist,
It's abstract,
It's unknown.
And there's a lot of beauty in that.
Of course,
It's uncomfortable,
It can be unexpected,
It can be daunting and overwhelming.
But you get to decide what it looks like today and now based on who you are.
Here in this moment,
As you exist today,
Knowing that there will be a trickle down effect and a carry forward impact.
So who are you as you exist today?
How do you feel in your body?
What are the thoughts in your mind?
Not the future planning,
But here as you exist in this moment.
Breathing into that beautiful body of yours.
Embracing that magnetic heart of yours.
Approaching yourself with that softness,
The love and compassion and kindness that you so freely give to everyone else.
You deserve it too.
So today,
Here and now,
Anchored into the present,
Built by experiences of the past.
Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Take a moment with the music and your breath to sink into that,
Reflect on it and consider taking a big breath in and out.
An extra one for good measure today.
And knowing that you can return here anytime your concept of self is maybe a little fragmented and abstract.
When maybe you start jumping ahead in your forward planning or you start feeling as though you've been pulled back into the past.
Come back here.
Recognize who you are today and now.
Take a minute to breathe and then push forward.
When it feels comfortable to you,
Opening the windows of your eyes and coming back into your space.
Thank you for joining me for your session today.
Give yourself some gratitude for showing up in your present moment as you exist.
Because right here,
Today and now,
You're an incredible human being.
