Hello to everyone and particularly to the younger meditators.
It is amazing and powerful to take time to unwind and discover and slow down.
Doing this as young as you are doing it shows that you are already a superhero.
So let's work on our superhero powers today,
Shall we?
This is a short meditation,
But if you need a moment or two to wiggle your body out,
Do so.
Make the silliest of silly faces.
Then,
Try your very best to be still.
There will be time for wiggles soon enough.
Imagine yourself outfitted in the very best superhero attire.
Do you have a cape?
And if you do,
What color is it?
Maybe you have a logo like Superman on your chest.
What does it look like?
Try to imagine your costume.
Maybe it has a color that you really,
Really like.
And then after you can see yourself as the superhero,
Let's get into our superpowers.
So your first superpower today is going to be x-ray vision.
So imagine that you can see the inside of your body.
But you don't only see the body parts.
You can also see your emotions.
Explore the terrain inside your body.
Where do you hold the emotions that come with a really bad day?
Where do you hold the upset or disappointment that comes when another kid isn't very nice to you?
And also,
Where do you hold the happiness that comes from a hug from someone you love?
We are not trying to change any of this.
We are just noticing,
Like super scientists,
Where we store our experiences.
Take a super breath in.
Then breathe out like you are trying to put out a fire with your breath.
Let's try another superpower.
This time,
The superpower is the ability to fly.
Imagine how cool it would feel to fly.
First,
You must connect to your body.
Feel the full weight of your body.
The muscles,
Bones.
And try to imagine all of that weight going away.
Imagine your body feeling as light as a feather.
Can you feel your body beginning to lift up high?
Can you feel yourself soaring above?
This light,
Light,
Light body going up,
Up,
Up.
If you could fly in the sky,
What would you like to see below you?
Let's take another one of those super breaths in and out with a whoosh.
And finally,
Let's connect with your superpower of kindness.
I already know that you are kind to yourself because you showed up here.
Is there anyone else that you want to express your kindness to?
Maybe you are too busy with school or your friends or your activities to always tell them.
Right now,
Just imagine the person could feel your kindness,
Your love.
And put your kindness in a bubble,
All your loving thoughts.
Then,
With your next breath,
You are going to send that bubble directly to the person.
Big super breath in and whoosh.
The bubble floats away directly to the person you were thinking of.
Maybe you want to keep on your super suit just a little bit longer.
And maybe it's time to take it off and go back to being the remarkable version of you that lights up the world every day.
