The Multidimensional Being: Bedtime Story
by Dan Jones
In this sleep story, a woman pruning an elderberry bush encounters a being of light emerging from a portal. She follows it into the woods, where an intense event transforms the being into a man. He reveals himself as a multi-dimensional being searching for a mythical creature to retrieve a crucial item. Together, they embark on a quest, encountering mermaids and a unique whale-like creature. The being acquires a multidimensional item essential for repairing a space-time rupture. That night, the woman discovers a holographic film of the being's further adventures, leading her to a peaceful sleep.

Just take a moment to allow your eyes to close and allow yourself to begin to relax.
And as you begin to comfortably drift to sleep,
I'm just going to tell this sleep story in the background.
And I don't know whether you'll drift to sleep faster to the sound of my voice or whether it'll be to the spaces between my words.
And as you begin to comfortably drift to sleep,
You can have a sense of a woman who is pruning an elderberry bush.
And as she prunes her elderberry bush,
She gazes over towards an amphitheater.
She can hear the commotion in that amphitheater and she wonders what's going on.
And she can see the different people wandering around past her bush,
Down the street,
Heading towards that amphitheater.
And she's curious whether to go and investigate.
There hasn't been a lot going on there for a while.
But as she's gazing over towards that amphitheater,
You can hear the distant,
Almost relaxing sound of cheering.
Where it's at a volume that's like a gentle background hum,
She notices the strangest thing.
Just in the field over the other side of a hedge,
She sees movement,
Almost like diamond-shaped glass moving in the sky,
Distorting the view behind that moving glass shape.
And then it starts to glow and get brighter and brighter.
And the edges of the diamonds begin to sparkle before all of a sudden a portal appears in the field.
And a strange being of light glides out of that portal.
And the portal closes behind them.
And this being of light almost blends in with the sunlight,
Making them very hard to see.
But this woman keeps her eye on that being and tries to watch that being,
Seeing where they're going.
And they seem to be gliding down the street in the opposite direction to the town centre.
They're heading up towards the woodland.
And as they're heading up towards the woodland,
The woman begins to follow,
Curious to learn more.
And as she follows,
So she can see heading in the other direction is a horse and cart.
And the being of light seems to rise up into the sky.
And the horse and cart pass by.
And the people on the horse and cart don't seem to notice that being of light,
Perhaps from their position.
The being of light just blended in with the sunlight,
As it had with her when it passed her by.
And she carefully and secretly followed that being of light,
Curious to learn more.
And it turned off into some woodland.
And the woodland was dark,
With the trees arched overhead.
The being of light floated through that woodland,
Illuminating an area around it,
While seeming to almost give off the subtlest of hums while it moved.
And the woman carefully and quietly followed.
And as she followed,
So she made a bit of noise,
Stepping on the occasional twig.
And the being of light seemed like it was turning to look in her direction.
So she hid behind a tree.
And as it stopped to turn,
So the humming changed.
So she could tell when it was stopping,
Because it would sound different.
And she could tell when it was going,
Because that humming would return to the same sound.
And she carefully and quietly followed that being of light,
As it traveled through the woodland.
It was almost like watching a bright light,
Like a bright torch light moving through the woods,
Adding an orangey glow to the underside of the green leaves overhead,
To the bark of the trees.
And she followed it through the woodland,
Until it reached a clearing.
And she had known about this clearing for years,
That locally it was known as the Witch's Patch.
Because for whatever reason,
No trees ever seemed to grow here.
Just grass and some wildflowers.
It's like a circular patch in the center of the woods,
Where the trees just never seemed to grow.
And as she watched,
She saw that being head to the center of this clearing.
She saw us.
It then seemed to increase the intensity of its glow.
And as it increased its intensity of its glow,
So the humming got higher pitch,
And the reverberating increased.
And then the ground started shaking ever so slightly.
And as the ground shook,
She could notice stone pillars pushing through the grass.
The mud parting around those stone pillars.
The roots of the grass ripping and breaking as the stone pillars raised up,
Forming a stone circle with larger stones around the inside.
And then about three times as many stones,
But small stones around the outside.
And in the very center,
Just around the being,
Two stones,
Wider,
Narrower,
And taller than all the others,
Rose up,
Pushing up through the mud.
And then there was silence.
And the being dropped to their knees,
Turning from light to seeming to be a naked human man,
Breathing heavily,
As if they've just been under a lot of stress and exerting a lot of hard work.
And the woman headed over to that man carefully and slowly.
And as she got closer,
The man looked up towards her with such friendly eyes,
And then smiled ever so slightly.
As he began to stand,
And as she got nearer to him,
She took a shawl off,
And she handed it to him to wrap around himself.
She asked him who he was,
And he explained that he's a multidimensional being,
And that he had appeared in this reality,
While still sharing a connection to the multiverse.
And that was why he was seen as a being of light,
Because there was no physical substance to him in any one universe,
Just his essence in a single point throughout all universes,
While his consciousness was here in this universe.
And so this is the universe he was aware of while passing through and finding this location,
And that there are these locations that were built thousands of years earlier,
Which are built on the energy lines of reality,
And once transmitting consciousness to a specific reality,
You then have to find one of these portals,
One of these locations,
You have to enter that location,
And you almost become the golden key,
Which unlocks that portal,
And then rises up around you,
Almost cutting you free from all of the other realities,
So that you're just a physical being in that one reality,
But it's exhausting to separate and to go through that process of detaching from all those realities to being in just one.
And the woman asks,
Why the effort to do all that just to be here?
And they said that they have to track down a mythical animal,
And the mythical animal is in this reality,
Is in this dimension,
That they need to obtain something from that mythical animal,
That they've evolved to a point where they're multi-dimensional beings,
That they need to obtain something from this mythical animal,
That will prevent the rupture of the multiverse,
And the only place this mythical animal is left within the multiverse is this one reality.
And the woman asks if there's anything they can do to help,
And the man says that they probably know the reality better than they could navigate it,
So perhaps they could join them on their journey,
Help to make sure that they interact correctly with people in this reality,
And find where they're going.
And the woman's excited about this break in her routine,
About doing something unusual,
Something a bit different for a change.
And the two of them walk out of the circle as those stones rumble and lower back down into the ground,
Leaving patches of mud on the surface.
And the man still seems to lack some energy,
And he asks if there's any quick way around,
Because while he was a being of light he could travel around at the speed of light,
But now he has to walk around at the speed of a human.
And the woman explains that you could always get a horse,
And that would get you around faster,
And so they obtain some horses.
They make the journey off on the horses,
With the woman asking every question she can think of,
As they enjoy the blue sky,
The warm weather,
The green land,
The rustling leaves of trees,
Sounds of birds overhead,
And the sound of a bubbling stream just alongside them,
And they continue their journey.
And the woman asks,
Why here,
If you can appear near any of the stone circles and use any of the stone circles,
Why this one?
And the man says that it appears that the animal was closest to this stone circle,
And she wants to know how they're going to find this mythical animal.
And he said,
First we have to find the mermaids.
The mermaids will know where the animal is,
And so they head towards the coast,
And at the coast,
They dismount from the horses.
They walk and wade just into the water,
And while walking and wading in the water,
The woman says to the man,
I've never seen any mermaids.
I've heard legends of mermaids.
Sailors occasionally come back,
Saying that they had encountered mermaids,
But I've never seen a mermaid.
How do you know you're going to find one near the shore?
The man explains that he's the golden key,
Because no one else like him here.
If he stands in the water,
They'll pick up on the hum given off by his body,
And they'll want to investigate that noise that's reverberating through the ocean.
And so he stands in the water,
His feet giving off that hum,
And to the woman,
She finds that unlike when he was a being of light,
She can't hear any noise.
The hum is inaudible to her,
So she wonders whether there is any hum,
And then,
After a while,
They see something moving out to sea,
And a mermaid appears near the shore.
The mermaid jumps out onto a rock,
And as it begins to dry off in the sun,
So its tail turns to legs,
And then this mermaid,
With long flowing hair,
Almost glides,
So gracefully and so light,
Towards them,
And looks upon this man with a sense of curiosity and intrigue,
And looks around the back of him,
The front of him,
Almost seems to be looking in his ears and behind his ears,
As if he's got something to hide there.
And he doesn't say anything,
He just stands there,
Until eventually she speaks,
And asks who he is,
And he then explains who he is,
Where he's from,
And that he's searching for a mythical creature,
And that this mythical creature lives within the ocean,
And there's only one left,
And it was detected near this shore,
But he can't know where it is now,
That he's a man here,
And the mermaid knows what creature he's talking about,
And says that she can take him to the creature,
And the woman wants to go along as well.
So the mermaid explains that,
If she's holding both of them,
Whoever she touches,
She imbues with the power to breathe underwater,
And that it can be a strange experience at first,
But within a few breaths you'll be used to it,
And it'll just be comfortable,
And the woman agrees to come along,
And the three of them walk into the water until they're up to their waists,
And then the mermaid holds the hands of both of them,
And says we're going to dive,
And then the three of them dive into the water,
Still holding hands,
The mermaid's feet turn to a tail,
And within a fraction of a second the woman discovers that she's able to breathe underwater,
And that it does feel strange at first,
But then comfortable,
And almost hypnotic how slow and calm everything is down here under the water,
And they swim deeper and deeper further away from the shore,
Initially through the almost pulses of waves passing towards them,
And then under those pulses of waves,
To stillness,
Then they head into a cave turning back towards the land,
And this cave opens up into a glowing large cavern,
And in the cavern they see what looks like a four-legged whale with the head of a jekyll,
And it's the strangest sight,
And on the tip of its tail seem to be feathers,
Which it seems to be able to splay out and pull in,
And seems to use to help it to control its movement,
And this whale surfaces in the cave,
And from where they are they can see it clearly,
Breathed out and then took a deep breath in,
As some spray landed and twinkled on the surface of the water above,
And the whale swam over to them,
And as it did,
Each beat of its tail seemed to almost create rainbow colors within the water,
And it hovered just in front of them,
And the man and this whale creature seemed to have a moment as if they were able to communicate with each other,
Almost telepathically,
And then the whale swam alongside the man,
And on the side of the whale there was something glowing and sparkling,
The man reached forward and picked it off of the whale,
And the whale swam back into the cave,
And then the mermaid said,
Have you got what you came here for?
And the man nodded,
And the three of them swam back to the shore,
And back on the shore the mermaid saw the woman and the man out of the water,
Before turning around,
Letting go of their hands,
Diving back into the water alone,
And swimming off.
The man opened up his hand to reveal a sparkling,
Twinkling button,
At least that's what it looked like,
And the man said,
This button is the button that holds the fabric of space and time together,
That the fabric of space and time had become ruptured,
And needs repairing,
And that it may seem strange,
But the way that the multiverse works is that things are often not as they seem,
That often things are metaphors for other things,
So you can find a repair to a rip in space and time that turns out to be finding a button,
And it just looks like a button,
Because that fits the human narrative,
It fits the construct of what it is that you imagine would take place,
And that this is just the way things work,
That often what you're searching for is a metaphor of what it really is,
So that it's easy to understand,
And they travel back to that clearing,
And the woman really wishes that she could see more,
And learn more about these realities,
But the man says that no one else can travel backwards and forwards in this way other than multi-dimensional beings,
And he stomps on the ground in the center of the clearing,
And gazes down and focuses and closes his eyes,
And then there's a rumble,
And the stones start rising around the man,
He takes the shawl off,
Hands it back to the woman,
Thanks her,
She steps back out of the circle,
Then in a flash she turns back into a being of light,
Holding that button,
And then heads out from the circle,
As the stones lower back down again,
Heads back,
Through that woodland,
The woman walks along with him,
Although she can no longer communicate with him in the same way,
And she heads with him all the way back,
So that elderberry bush,
And that being of light,
The multi-dimensional being,
Heads into the field opposite,
The diamond shaped bits of glass appear again,
The portal opens up,
And the being of light travels through,
And she wonders if there's any way she would ever know,
Whether he has been successful,
In fixing the rupture in space-time,
She assumes that if space-time continues,
Then he probably has,
But was really curious,
About whether there's any way of knowing,
What took place,
And what he did after he left,
This reality,
And that night,
While she drifts and floats,
Peacefully asleep,
She hears a hum,
That wakes her from her sleep,
And as she gently wakes,
From that slumber,
And gazes around her dark room,
She sees a tiny crystal cube,
Sitting beside her bed,
She picks that cube up,
Curious what it is,
And where it came from,
And as it,
Moves into the path,
Of the moonlight,
Shining through the bedroom,
So she,
Sees what happened next,
Almost like a holographic projection,
Into the middle of her room,
Showing that being of light,
Appearing,
Back,
In a strange universe,
Something that,
Was indescribable,
She sees the being,
Traversing that universe,
And attaching that,
Button,
To a rip,
Almost as if,
That being has attached the button,
To one side of a rip,
Pulled the other side of the rip over,
And popped the button,
Through a hole in the other side,
Of the rip,
She sees the being,
Both sides of the rip,
And then with some other,
Multidimensional beings,
They appear to be almost,
Sewing up the rip,
Down towards the button,
And then from the button,
Back out a little bit,
And then after they've sewed up,
That rip,
So the rip appeared,
To totally disappear,
Including the button,
It didn't appear at all,
In the first place,
And the woman found this really strange,
And then she heard a voice,
Just saying thank you,
For your help,
Coming from the projection,
And the projection went dark,
And the crystal just seemed to be,
A crystal cube,
That was inert,
Didn't seem to do anything at all,
And she put that,
Down beside her,
And she told herself that,
As memento,
Of her experience,
She'll place that,
Somewhere special,
In the morning,
But for now,
Knowing multiverses are safe,
She's going to drift,
And float asleep,
And so she relaxes,
And drifts,
So peacefully,
So comfortably,
Asleep,
