Good morning and welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Our practice today will be an opportunity to free your creative spirit.
I'm gonna share some affirmations,
All of which are framed around giving ourselves permission,
Permission to be our truest selves.
And a gentle reminder that it's not for me or anyone else to give you permission to be yourself.
And maybe I'll share some obvious things with you where your mind will say,
Of course I have permission to do that.
And to that response I say,
Wonderful,
Of course you have permission to do that.
And maybe I'll share some things where you'll start to feel yourself contract,
You'll notice your breath gets shorter,
And maybe even you start to tune out.
Those are really interesting places if you're open for it,
If you're into it,
For us to explore,
To investigate,
And most of all to send love to those contracted places.
And to get curious,
What could it be like if even in those places we gave ourselves permission to fully be ourselves?
Let's take a deep breath together as we begin our practice.
Now I've said a lot of things,
And when we say a lot of things,
Often what happens is we bring our energy to our headspace,
We're thinking,
We're processing,
And that's okay.
You're open to it,
Let's consciously move from our headspace into our heart space.
Taking a few deep breaths,
Making some noise on our exhales,
Reminding ourselves and our world that our voice matters,
We're allowed to use our voice,
We're allowed to take up space.
Feeling the seat underneath you,
Feeling the ground beneath you,
Feeling the stability and support all around you.
You are safe here.
You are safe here,
We are safe here.
I often like to start my meditations with that very simple affirmation,
I am safe here.
I am safe here.
A reminder that you can't get this meditation wrong.
Some of the affirmations I'm about to share will excite you,
Some of the affirmations might make you nervous.
Resistance almost always shows up,
And that's okay,
We love resistance,
Thank you resistance.
Whatever experience you have,
All of it is information.
Continuing to take deep,
Long breaths,
Take one together now,
Breathing in,
Hold to the top of your inhale,
And let go with some noise,
Ah,
Giving yourself an opportunity to really arrive here,
Now.
Bravo,
Dear artist,
Hopefully you are finding yourself in a slightly more still,
Intentional mind space.
We're going to transition now into the affirmations,
And remember they're really simple,
And all of them are framed as permission,
Permission to do something.
Of course,
You don't need me giving you permission,
It's just a gentle reminder of the permission you've always had.
Sometimes the most powerful things in life are simple and obvious,
And we forget them.
You,
Dear artist,
You,
Dear creator,
Have permission to try things.
You have permission to do things just for fun.
You have permission to make mistakes.
You have permission to make mistakes.
You are allowed to free your creative spirit,
And you are allowed to be fully yourself.
Yourself.
To notice if those statements feel any certain way in your mind,
Body,
Or soul.
Maybe they excite you,
Maybe you're repelled by them.
All of it is just information.
We're going to go in for round two.
You,
Dear artist,
Have permission to care.
You have permission to get excited.
You have full permission to get nervous.
All of your feelings matter.
You are allowed to have the full spectrum of the human experience.
You are allowed to free your creative spirit.
You are allowed to be fully yourself.
For this last round of affirmations,
I'm going to use the term,
I am,
Instead of you are.
And you're welcome to repeat the affirmations with me.
I am allowed to be fully me.
Am allowed to step into every room as myself.
I am allowed to take up space.
I am allowed to share my voice and my vision.
I am allowed to get it wrong.
I'm allowed to make mistakes.
And I'm allowed to have fun.
I'm allowed to have fun.
I give myself full permission.
To free my creative spirit.
I give myself full permission to free my creative spirit.
Take a few deep breaths.
Unlocking,
Unblocking anything in your mind or body that is in the way of your beautiful,
Radiant,
Brilliant,
Incredible creative spirit.
I give myself full permission to free my creative spirit.
Can you feel the frequency of that affirmation?
For some of you,
It will feel like goosebumps.
For some of you,
It might feel numb.
It might feel like resistance.
Thank you,
Resistance.
Thank you for showing me the places in which,
If I choose,
I can send love.
You want to unblock and unlock that incredible creative spirit of yours,
Just keep breathing,
Stay curious,
And send love to those places.
This is our last song,
Dear artist.
I'm going to sit back and let you and your incredible spirit have some quality time together.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear creator.
You made it to the end of our meditation,
And for that,
I am so grateful.
Let's take one breath together here to bring our practice to an end.
Breathing in and letting it go with some noise,
Freeing that voice of yours.
For those that are joining us live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and share a journaling prompt to allow us to continue exploring this space in this practice together.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on Insight Timer,
You can do the same.
Thank you once again.
My name is Darius,
And I'll see you next time.
