Welcome and thank you for joining me,

Today as we journey to meet Iris,
The Greek goddess of rainbows,
Whose colourful energy will restore and balance your chakras.
Before we begin,
First get comfortable and close your eyes.
We will start by taking three deep breaths together,
In through your nose,
Out through your mouth,
And in,
Out,
And then one last time,
In and out.
As you breathe in,
You realise you can smell the sea.
Mild at first,
Then stronger,
It is salty and crisp.
You lick your lips and can almost taste the salt.
As you look around,
You realise you are standing on a high hill on the Mediterranean coast,
Overlooking the white buildings of a city.
And in the distance,
The deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea stretches before you.
You are standing at the base of several large marble steps that lead up to the remains of a magnificent ancient temple.
Sadly,
The wear and tear of thousands of years has left it a ruin,
But the structure and huge columns holding up giant blocks of marble remain.
It is obvious that this was once a mighty temple,
With statues and intricate friezes,
But now only a few broken sculptured remnants remain.
Beneath your feet,
The ground is wet.
However,
This evidence of the recent passing of a brief summer shower is evaporating quickly under the heat of the sun,
Which is now peeking out from the sparse grey clouds in the deep blue sky.
As you look up,
You smile as you see the wonderful colours of a rainbow stretching across the heavens,
As you follow the compelling colours of red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Green,
Blue,
Indigo and violet down,
Down,
Down to the end and realise it falls directly inside the temple.
The colours are so intense,
You almost feel like you can touch them.
You climb the large steps and stand between two of the marble pillars.
The roof of the temple is no longer there,
So the vibrant colours pour into the temple and continue as if right into the ground.
Breathing in this wondrous sight,
You notice a woman walking through the rainbow.
She is mesmerising and appears to have stepped from the rainbow itself.
Large wings of bright gold stretch up behind her.
Rich,
Auburn hair flows down her back in waves,
Resting on her coloured robe.
And she is adorned with gold-gemmed jewellery across her forehead,
Around her neck and around her waist.
In her hands she holds a two-handled ceramic picture,
And as she walks through the rainbow,
She holds it out in front of her,
Stopping at each colour,
Lifting the picture and appearing to gather the rainbow's essence one colour at a time.
Red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Green,
Blue,
Indigo and finally violet,
Before she steps from the rainbow and walks towards you.
Then she is standing in front of you.
She puts the picture down and looks directly into your eyes and speaks.
Welcome my dear traveller to Athens,
Greece and to the Parthenon,
This wonderful temple built by the people of Athens a long,
Long time ago for our Greek goddess Athena.
My name is Iris.
I am the goddess of rainbows and a messenger to the gods and I have a gift for you.
She reaches in her pocket,
Takes out a small clear round crystal hanging from a coloured ribbon.
The light from her wings refracts off the many facets and mini rainbows are scattered all around.
She steps forward,
Raises her arms and places the ribbon around your neck so the crystal sits on your chest and you feel like the mini rainbows are reflected inside you as well.
She looks you over,
Up and down with gentle eyes.
She looks back towards the rainbow and speaks again,
Isn't it majestic?
I use the rainbow to travel when I am delivering messages to the gods but just as important is my role as goddess of rainbows and sharing its healing energy.
Each colour has its own unique resonance and so each colour heals in a different way.
She pauses for a second,
Reaches for your hand and continues.
You also contain a rainbow my dear and the seven colours stretch from the base of your spine up to the top of your head.
Each colour is a spinning ball of energy called a chakra.
Walk with me into the rainbow,
Let's feel the colours together.
You both walk hand in hand,
Stepping into the first colour of the rainbow,
Red.
Wow this is amazing,
You feel like you're on a blustery cliff on a windy day as the energy of the red chakra spins around you.
It swirls and swirls intensifying with each rotation and finally settles into the area at the base of your spine.
Iris calls out,
This is our root chakra energy and with the settling of the energy you feel like you have roots right into the earth below,
Anchoring you both emotionally and physically.
You stay here for a moment,
Filling your root chakra with rainbow red.
Iris gestures to move again and you both step in to the colour and like the red,
The orange spins around you.
It swirls and swirls intensifying with each rotation and finally settles into the space just below your belly button.
Iris calls out,
This is our sacral chakra energy and with the settling of the energy you feel the blossoming of creativity and the strength in your unique sexuality rise up to be seen.
You stay here for a moment,
Filling your sacral chakra with rainbow orange.
Iris gestures to move again and you both step in to the yellow colour.
It begins to whip and spin around you,
It swirls and swirls intensifying with each rotation and finally settles in to the area of your stomach.
Iris calls out,
This is our solar plexus chakra energy and with the settling of the energy you feel the igniting of the fire in your belly.
You are so strong and beautiful just as you are.
There is only one magical you and you are a fire burning brightly.
You stay here for a moment,
Filling your solar plexus with rainbow yellow.
Iris gestures to move again and you both step in to the green colour.
It begins to whip and spin around you,
It swirls and swirls intensifying with each rotation and finally settles in to the area of your heart.
Iris calls out,
This is our heart chakra energy and with the settling of the energy abundant love blossoms like a flower,
Petals opening and love pouring out.
You are pure love and you are totally loved.
You stay here for a moment,
Filling your heart chakra with rainbow green.
Iris gestures to move again and you both step in to the colour blue.
It begins to whip and spin around you,
It swirls and swirls intensifying with each rotation and finally settles in to the area of your throat.
Iris calls out,
This is our throat chakra energy and with the settling of the energy you find your voice to speak your passion and listen with compassion.
Your words are your truth.
You stay here for a moment,
Filling your throat chakra with rainbow blue.
Iris gestures to move again and you both step in to the indigo colour.
It begins to whip and spin around you,
It swirls and swirls intensifying with each rotation and finally settles in to the area of your forehead between your brows.
Iris calls out,
This is our third eye chakra energy and with the settling of the energy a veil lifts and you feel a deep knowing and a clarity of knowledge beyond your physical form.
You stay here for a moment,
Filling your third eye chakra with rainbow indigo.
Iris gestures to move again and you both step in to the violet colour.
It begins to whip and spin around you,
It swirls and swirls intensifying with each rotation and finally settles in to the area at the very top of your head.
Iris calls out,
This is our crown chakra energy and with the settling of the energy you are whole,
You are bliss and you feel for a moment the peace of enlightenment.
You are pure spirit,
This energy is you.
You stay here for a moment,
Filling your crown chakra with rainbow violet and as you stay here the light turns slowly from violet to pure divine white and you have a flash of remembering and a clarity of what your spirit,
Your soul came here to do.
Then Iris begins to turn around and you follow,
Walking back to her picture beside the pillars and she turns to face you and gestures to the crystal around your neck.
The crystal was made in my rainbow,
Take it in your hand and feel its presence.
Close your fingers around the crystal and you can feel its weight against your palm and as you close your fingers further you start to feel a thrum of energy.
The thrum begins to pulsate like a heartbeat and on each beat you feel the glorious flow of rainbow energy pouring from the crystal into your heart.
You feel safe,
Cradled like a baby in a womb,
Constantly comforted by the sound of the mother's heartbeat and Iris continues,
Just like I am a messenger to the gods,
I am here to deliver a message to you dear one.
You continue to hold the crystal in your hand and Iris speaks again,
Her words are gentle and calming as she continues.
Messages aren't always in words,
Sometimes they are in feelings,
Sometimes thoughts in your head,
Sometimes just a knowing from your soul.
Be still and listen to your heart,
It is in that stillness that the message will be heard and as you stand in the stillness you begin to receive what you have waited for so long.
After some time Iris speaks again,
Hang your crystal in a window and when it is activated with divine light you will see a rainbow and it will be a signal to you to stop and listen in the stillness.
It is here you will receive the message your heart is yearning for you to hear,
For it is here in the stillness of this turning world that the dances.
You are beautiful and brave but now I must leave you and return to the rainbow.
Iris bends down and picks up her picture,
She turns to leave and walks away back into the rainbow and as she walks you notice that Iris and the colours of the rainbow are starting to fade and then the whole temple around you starts to fade and lastly the sounds of the day begin to fade and you realise you have returned.
Take a stretch if you are able,
Open your eyes when you feel ready.
You can still remember the feeling so vividly of the crystal around your neck and you promise to yourself always to stop and listen for the magic when you see a rainbow.
