I invite you now to join me in this creek and to settle in as comfortable as you can make yourself,
Whether you're in your office,
At home,
Outside in a park or even in your car.
Gently close your eyes and get into your body.
Open first and foremost you're listening and start noticing not only my voice but the sound of the water in the background.
You may imagine that you're sitting here by my side on soft rocks under the shade of trees with sunlight coming through the leaves and that with your eyes closed you start being more and more present with your surroundings and connecting to the sound of water.
You tap into the flow of your breath and you simply watch your breath running in and out of the body like a gentle river.
A soothing,
Calm river that has a steady flow and that in this case is not running in and out taking the same direction but rather is passing through your body.
Imagine that the breath is descending in you and leaving through your feet rather than through your nostrils.
Take a moment on your own to find that inner flow.
Maybe it's a winding flow,
Maybe it's a straighter flow like a pipe of sort that runs from up to down and out.
Maybe it's coming from under the earth from the depth of you and it runs deep and then comes out to the surface.
Or maybe it's simply cascading through the surface of your skin from the top of the head,
Flushing down and leaving through the tip of the toes.
And as this liquid breath starts finding a smoother and easier course through you,
The body starts relaxing into presence more and more.
You let it soften,
You let it remove obstacles as the breath is touching areas that might be tight or uncomfortable.
You let yourself be enveloped by the sound of running water from the outside and the gentle brushing of your inner breathing river on the inside.
And the breath naturally might widen,
Find new places to run through as the river sometimes splits in different streams and creeks.
And while you're still connected to the river of breath inside,
To the sound of the water that you're listening is perceiving,
I invite you to gently open your eyes and through the cracking of your eyes,
Maybe just for a moment as the light comes back in,
There's a visual of a river,
A creek,
A stream of water that appears just for a moment before you actually come back to the room you're in or the surrounding that you're in right now.
You may now re-enter your day on your own terms,
Maybe a little calmer,
A little more centered,
And maybe refreshed and rejuvenated by this little five minute break.
Thank you for joining me.
