Welcome,
Fellow dream weavers,
To a realm of enchantment.
Tonight we'll embark on a journey into the depths of our inner worlds.
The journey will be a sweet one,
Soft and comforting,
And too it shall be a fun one,
Intriguing and engaging.
By the end of our time together,
You'll be roaming around inside your own mind,
Gently lulled into a restful sleep by my words.
To get us there,
I request that you now find a cosy spot and get as comfortable as you can.
Exactly how you get comfortable is up to you,
Of course.
A bed,
A couch,
A reclining chair,
Whatever it may be.
Find your space now.
Once settled,
Close your eyes and let the external world fade away,
And your internal world light up.
This is a place where all is well,
And magic reigns supreme.
And so,
We're ready to begin our adventure together.
Our little bedtime story.
Tonight's story is called,
The Princess Found the Portal.
Once upon a time,
In a faraway kingdom,
Not so different from our own,
There lived a young princess named Amelia,
Daughter to the great queen Cordonia,
And first in line to the throne.
Amelia dwelt in a magnificent castle atop a hill,
Overlooking lush,
Green valleys and sparkling clear rivers.
But Amelia had a curious spirit,
Although this curiosity wasn't entirely respected by her mother,
The queen.
She was loved and taken care of,
Of course,
But Amelia felt forgotten,
Abandoned,
Spending most of her days in the castle with her guards,
Far away from her mother's love.
Over the years,
The guards became her friends,
In fact,
They were more like parents to her,
More so than her mother the queen,
At least.
And so,
Amelia and the guards would explore the castle together,
Roaming the vast corridors and exploring the great cavernous rooms.
She always led the way,
The guards following,
Making sure she was safe.
This way,
She said to George,
A muscular man in iron-clad armor,
Who she thought of as an uncle.
Let's go to the kitchens today and check in on the cooks.
That evening,
As Princess Amelia lay in her soft,
Silken bed,
She noticed a peculiar glow emanating from an ancient tapestry she had hanging on her chamber wall.
What's that?
She wondered,
Getting out of bed and approaching it.
As she got closer,
The glow began to swirl and dance,
Forming a mesmerizing portal before her very eyes.
What am I seeing?
She wondered,
Her adolescent mind going into overdrive with questions.
Without a moment's hesitation,
Princess Amelia stepped through the portal,
Her heart pounding with excitement.
And with a fizz and a pop and a vroom,
She found herself somewhere else,
In a magical realm far away from her own,
Where vibrant flowers bloomed in every hue imaginable,
And strange interdimensional insects flew around,
Making unfamiliar sounds.
It was a world unlike any she'd ever seen before.
I could get used to this,
She thought,
Her mind full of awe.
As she explored the enchanted realm,
Amelia stumbled upon a peaceful grove,
Illuminated by the soft glow of the moon above her.
There,
Sitting gracefully beneath a majestic oak tree,
She found an older,
Wiser version of herself,
Wearing a crown.
The older Amelia possessed an aura of strength,
Her eyes sparkling with the knowledge of a life well lived.
The younger Amelia approached her,
Excited.
The older Amelia smiled warmly,
And beckoned her younger self to sit beside her.
They spent hours conversing there,
Sharing stories and discussing the lessons they'd learned throughout their respective journeys.
The older Amelia spoke of resilience in the face of adversity,
The importance of compassion,
And the value of nurturing one's dreams.
With each word spoken,
The young princess felt a deep sense of wisdom washing over her.
She soaked in those lessons like a sponge,
Understanding that the path to greatness required not only courage,
But also humility and a compassionate heart.
So they sat there,
Happy to be with each other,
As the older Amelia began to whistle a serene little tune of hope and glory.
Later,
When it was time to bid farewell,
The older Amelia pressed a small necklace into the palm of the young princess.
Carry this with you always,
She said,
And let it remind you of the wisdom we shared here.
Let it guide you in times of doubt and hardship.
The young Amelia's heart lit up,
Feeling the sort of love that she wished her mother,
The queen,
Had for her.
You always have the love of your older self,
Old Amelia said,
Nodding kindly and sending her back through the portal.
Filled with newfound confidence and armed with the lessons learned,
Princess Amelia now found herself back in her own realm.
She'd been on quite the journey,
One of personal growth and transformation.
Going forward,
It was now her job to apply the wisdom she'd gained from her older self and to live the best life possible.
Years passed,
And the young princess grew into a remarkable woman,
Admired and respected by her kingdom.
She followed her father's footsteps,
And she was a woman of great character.
She was a woman of great wisdom,
And she was a woman of great courage.
Admired and respected by her kingdom,
She fostered peace and harmony,
Her compassionate heart healing wounds and bridging divides.
She wore the necklace every day as a reminder of her encounter with the older Amelia.
It became a cherished heirloom,
Passed down through the generations as a symbol of wisdom and strength.
And even her mother,
The queen,
In her older age began to soften towards her daughter,
Seeing the magnificence that lay in her heart and embracing her in the way she should have done many years prior.
The night before the queen passed,
She gave Amelia her blessing to continue on her legacy.
The princess-turned-queen's reign brought great prosperity to the kingdom and her people.
Her name became synonymous with grace,
Compassion and progress.
Princess Amelia had blossomed into a wonderful,
Important woman because of the lessons she'd learned that night in the magical realm.
Some days though,
Queen Amelia would question if her journey there had ever really happened.
Perhaps it was just a dream,
She would think,
Until eventually she grew into the exact same woman she'd met beneath the majestic oak tree all those decades prior.
So it wasn't a dream after all,
She told her old friend George,
The man that used to guard her as a child.
It was real.
It was real.
And so,
Fellow dream weavers,
Let the tale of Princess Amelia-turned-Queen Amelia spark a light in you to follow your dreams.
Amelia found the portal,
And so can you.
Embrace this knowing.
Embrace this wisdom.
And strive to become the best possible version of yourself from this day forth,
With a strong will and unwavering determination.
It's quite possible.
Quite possible indeed.
Until we meet again then,
Fellow dream weaver,
Sleep well,
For the dream realms are calling you now,
Reaching out with their gentle touch.
Good night to you,
And sweet dreams.
