Welcome to the Best Life University podcast.
I'm Dr.
Lynne Brown,
A counselor and educator.
In this podcast,
I discuss a myriad of topics related to the five dimensions of personal growth,
Mental,
Social,
Spiritual,
Emotional,
And physical.
Thanks so much for listening.
Today's topic is there are no irrational acts.
There are no irrational acts.
This means that you have a reason for everything you do and say.
When you find yourself feeling uncomfortable about a choice you've made,
Ask yourself this question,
What explanation will make this a reasonable act?
By answering this question,
You will be determining why you did what you did,
When you did it,
And why.
Then it is up to you to determine whether or not you want to keep the idea,
The belief,
That made that behavior rational.
If you do,
You don't have a problem.
If you don't want to keep that idea,
Change it.
Changing it will result in a different behavior.
So list three decisions or actions that you have made recently that you determined were irrational or non-productive.
Then give thought to what the explanation is that made this decision or action reasonable at the time.
Keep in mind that most of what we do each day is habit,
And these habits are the outcome of our values,
Ideas,
And life rules.
After recognizing why you did what you did,
You can decide if you want to keep the value,
Idea,
Or life rule,
Or change it to allow for a different outcome.
