Hello my little friend,
I'm really excited that you're here with me today because we're going to do something very special.
We're going to practice positive affirmations.
These are kind words we say to ourselves to remind us of how amazing we are.
Before we start,
I need you to do something,
Go and get your journal from where you keep it and place it next to you.
Don't worry,
We'll use it after our meditation.
Once you've got your journal and you're ready,
Find a comfy spot to sit or lie down.
You can close your eyes if that feels good or keep them open,
Whatever makes you feel best.
Let's start with some deep breathing,
Breathe in through your nose like you're filling up a big balloon in your tummy and slowly let the air out through your mouth.
Now,
Let's say these words to ourselves,
I am a good learner.
Learning is like going on an adventure,
Sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's a little hard,
But you keep getting better and better.
Say it with me again,
I am a good learner.
You're doing such a great job learning new things every day.
Next,
We're going to be kind to ourselves.
Take a deep breath in and let it out.
Now repeat after me,
I like myself.
Let's say it together again,
I like myself.
It's important to remember that you are special,
Just the way you are.
There's no one else like you and that's something to be proud of.
Keep being kind to yourself.
Now,
Let's think about how we treat other people.
Friends help each other,
Share and are kind.
Say this with me,
I am a good friend.
When you are kind to others,
You make the world a better place.
Say it one more time,
I am a good friend.
You're an amazing friend and the people in your life are lucky to have you.
You've done such a wonderful job today.
Now,
It's time to use your journal.
I want you to pick one or two of the journal prompts to write or draw about.
Before you start,
Set a timer for two minutes.
That way,
You can focus on your journal until the timer rings.
Remember,
Your journal is private.
No one else,
Your teacher,
Your parents or even me will look at it unless you want them to.
You can even hide it somewhere safe if that makes you feel better.
