Harjita Wagner here.
I want to talk about a topic that is very dear to my heart.
Kundalini Shakti.
Shakti is a Sanskrit word that just means power.
And the Kundalini Shakti is the power that is inside of us.
That awakens.
On our path forward.
Of sadhana on our spiritual path.
And expands to become.
Our spiritual attainment.
The Kundalini Shakti is quite misunderstood.
In the yoga world,
It's become a very popular thing to be branded and sold in different programs.
But traditionally,
That's the point of view that I'm speaking about it from.
Traditionally,
This power is something that is very universal.
It's beyond any yoga technique.
It's beyond any brand of spirituality or any group.
The Kundalini Shakti is our inherent energy.
Spiritual intelligence.
In a contracted form.
The Sanskrit word Kundalini.
Means coiled up.
And the symbol of the Kundalini Shakti is a serpent,
A snake that is coiled around itself.
And this is symbolic of the contraction of our spiritual intelligence.
I say spiritual intelligence,
But it's not like something that we know with our mind.
It's not like a knowledge base.
Or even an aptitude.
As such.
When I say spiritual intelligence,
It's a very unexact thing.
Sort of word.
To use in this case,
Kundalini Shakti is a very,
Very subtle,
Very profound principle.
Spiritual intelligence.
When I'm using it,
It means our ability to experience the divine.
Within ourselves.
And within the world around us.
One of the most basic teachings of yoga.
Is that our basic essence is divine and the essence of everything else also is that divine power.
But.
.
.
Again,
Back to the basic yoga teachings.
That experience is veiled.
For most of us.
The process of yoga is the process of moving through that veil to have that experience.
The Kundalini Shakti is a way to talk about that power within us.
To perceive.
That divine energy.
When it's in its coiled form.
It's hidden.
It's this power that lies in our body.
And even in its.
Dormant form,
It is said,
It is the intelligence of our body.
It's the intelligence that makes ourselves metabolize.
Digestive system,
Reproductive system,
Circulatory system,
Nervous system,
All of these miraculous systems in our body work.
That's just in its dormant state.
That's when the Kundalini is asleep.
It does those amazing things.
And then.
.
.
The teaching goes.
At some point in our spiritual journey,
In our soul's journey of many,
Many lifetimes.
This Kundalini Shakti is awakened.
Sometimes it's awakened in initiation.
Sometimes it's awakened when it's in the presence.
Of other awakened beings.
Beings.
Sometimes it's awakened in holy places.
Sometimes it's awakened during dramatic events.
Sometimes it's awakened during plant ceremony or psychedelic experiences.
It doesn't always stay awake.
It's important to say that,
But we'll leave that.
Topic for a longer talk.
But just to say that at some point in our soul's journey,
That power awakens.
And when it does,
It starts to expand and take us through the process of healing.
Owning.
Not just discovering,
But owning.
That divine power within us,
And then ultimately expressing it too.
The spiritual tradition that I come from works with that Kundalini Shakti very closely.
That's why I say it's dear to my heart.
We see the process of Yogic Sadhana,
The process of making space for that Kundalini Shakti to do its work and expand.
It's not about psychedelic experiences,
It's not about movements of the body,
Or rushes of energy,
Or cathartic experiences even.
Sometimes those do happen.
But from the point of view of the deep,
What we call Maha Yoga,
That works with Kundalini Shakti.
It's more about us getting to understand what we truly are.
And then being able to experience and understand.
That same truth in others.
And in the world around us,
And then ultimately act from that place.
The fruit of the Kundalini's awakening and expansion is us not only seeing the divine in the world around us,
But acting.
Accordingly.
There's so many things that I could say about Kundalini Shakti,
But just to give some definition to this exotic concept and these Sanskrit words,
Kundalini Shakti,
That is a good start,
I think.
So that's all for now,
And I hope to see you again soon.
Bye for now.
