Hi everybody,
I'm so glad that you're here.
My name is Heather and for our time today we're going to use our imagination Pretend that we are butterflies.
Do you love butterflies?
Aren't they so fun to see flying around outside and all the flowers?
Great big colorful wings or maybe they're little tiny ones.
What colors of butterflies do you like to see?
I like the little white ones.
They seem so magical to me.
So we're going to be butterflies.
So first and foremost,
Sit down on the floor,
Or maybe you could sit in a chair or on the couch,
Maybe on your bed.
And I want you to sit with your legs crossed.
We're going to relax.
Let's take a couple of breaths in through our nose.
And out through our mouth.
And in through our nose.
Out through our mouth.
So to get us ready for butterflies.
Actually uncross her legs for just a second.
And I want you to bring your feet so they're touching,
So that your toes touch and your heels touch.
And we've got this butterfly with us.
Now if you can,
Put your hands on your ankles and I want you just to flap your butterfly wings.
And just pretend that you're flying all around.
All around a beautiful flower meadow,
A flower garden.
Everywhere in the air and the sky.
Just enjoying your butterfly life.
Think about the colors that your wings are.
Are you a big butterfly?
A little butterfly?
Let's take a couple more deep breaths.
Let's get ready.
Let's crisscross our legs once again.
We're in our comfortable seat.
And here's what we're going to do.
We're gonna take our hands.
And place them like this with our thumbs crossed over each other so our hands are out.
And I want you to take your hands.
From right on your chest.
Right on your heart space.
Now we're going to tap our hands on our chest.
They're gonna take turns tapping,
Just like butterfly wings.
We just slowly move our fingers.
We tap our chest and we don't need to go very fast.
We don't need to go slow.
But imagine these are your butterfly wings.
You're flying all around.
Okay,
So let's close our eyes and keep flying with our wings,
All right?
Close your eyes.
And every time you feel your hand tap on your chest,
Imagine it's your wings.
Flying high.
Bye.
Maybe we're going to find some red flowers.
Maybe we're finding some white flowers.
Maybe we can feel the sunshine on our wings and it feels so warm.
I want you to take some deep breaths.
Let's breathe in through our nose.
Let's breathe out.
You can breathe out through your mouth.
Out through your nose.
Just feel your body relax every time you breathe.
Let's do it again.
Breathe in.
And out.
Maybe you notice when you take some deep breaths that your hands.
.
.
I want to flap a little bit faster.
Or maybe you notice when you breathe,
Your hands slow down.
Try to keep our wings tapping.
Keep your eyes closed.
And just picture that beautiful butterfly that you are.
Playing all around.
So happy and so free.
Okay,
Let's do two more breaths.
And out.
One more in.
Window.
All right,
Let's close our eyes and bring our hands to rest.
I'm down in your lap.
Good job,
Butterflies.
So when is this something that we should do?
When do we want to become these butterflies?
Anytime we feel those butterflies in our belly.
Maybe we're nervous to do something first day of school.
Maybe you have a soccer game or a baseball game or something fun to go do and you're a little nervous.
This is a great way to help calm down those nerves.
I hope you realize that you can do it.
You are so strong and you can do whatever it is that you are setting out to do.
It's also such a great thing to share with family and with friends.
So whenever you see someone that maybe just needs a little bit of a smile on their face,
Why don't you help them become butterflies too?
You can teach them how to tap on their chest.
How to flop their leg wink.
And fly around and just start to feel better.
I'm so glad that we could do this together today and I look forward to seeing you next time.
Bye guys.
