Hello,
My name is Hilary LaFawn,
And I'm so grateful that you joined me for this meditation.
This meditation is devoted to helping ourselves before a surgery or a procedure,
Something that we might fear,
Something that's tomorrow,
The next day,
Or next month.
Knowing it's coming,
Knowing it's looming,
Together,
Let's find comfort and strength knowing our body has superhuman powers to heal and miracles happen every day.
So let us start together by finding a comfortable seat or lying down,
Whatever feels right for you at this time.
Close your eyes.
Allow your body to soften.
Let's bring our awareness to our breath,
Our dear old friend who's been with us from the beginning and will be there till the end.
Our breath,
Which will help us get through any difficult time.
Exhaling all your breath out.
Inhaling deeply through the nose,
Feeling your chest expand,
And then exhaling through the mouth,
Sighing it out,
Making some noise,
Letting it go.
Two more times together,
Inhaling deeply through the nose and exhaling completely,
Letting it all go.
One more time together,
Inhale through the nose and exhale,
Sighing it out,
Maybe even puffing it out,
Letting a,
As you release it,
This physiological sigh,
Helping us to let go that energy that holds us back.
Breathing naturally and normally for yourself,
Allowing any emotion to rise as we face one of our greatest fears,
One of our greatest challenges.
I heard recently to change the saying,
Fake it till you make it,
Changing the terms to face it till you make it.
And that's what we will do with our upcoming procedure or surgery.
We will face it.
We will get through it.
Historically,
Every instance in our life we have gotten through,
Whether it be difficult,
Whether it be easy,
Whether we are faced with our biggest challenge,
We have overcome and we are sitting here right now,
Strong enough to handle this situation,
Strong enough to recover and be well and live a life of purpose and love.
So as you breathe and settle,
Notice what parts of your body have tensed up.
Bring a little bit of awareness to that area and taking a deep breath,
Visualizing a white light entering through the top of your body and going to that spot of tension.
And as you exhale,
Feel it absorb all the negative energy,
All the feelings of dis-ease or pain or suffering.
As you breathe deeply,
Let this white light shine through you,
Feeling strong and powerful,
Ready to handle anything.
In your mind,
Visualize a time in your life when you were healthy,
When the area you're going to have your procedure or surgery on was in perfect working order.
This may have been last year,
Five years,
Decades ago.
Visualize yourself running,
Frolicking,
A smile on your face full of vitality.
Let this feeling of life wash over you,
Feeling your body like a bath being filled with water.
Feeling the gentle warmth,
Filling your body up,
Comforting,
Making you feel safe and at ease.
As you breathe,
Noticing if anything has tensed up and energetically allow it to be released.
Even if you're in pain,
It may not go away,
But bringing gentle awareness to that area can help you deal with it better.
Allow that area to soften,
Settle,
Melt.
Come back to that visualization of you strong and healthy in the sunshine.
Warm air in your face,
Feeling free,
Happy,
Content.
The rest of your life in front of you with hope and possibility.
Let this feeling wash over you anytime when you feel fear or stagnation.
Anytime you feel frozen and not able to move forward.
You have the power inside you to handle any experience,
As long as we face it till we make it.
Now visualize yourself getting ready for the procedure.
Your loved ones around you,
Caring doctors who are experts in their field,
Getting ready to do what they do best,
Knowing you're in good hands.
Visualize light and love,
Miracles,
Hope and joy.
Allow all your guardian angels,
Spirit guides,
Ancestors.
Allow them all to be with you,
Standing around you.
Know you're not alone,
Even in your darkest hour.
Notice in your body if any areas of tension has arisen.
Breathing deeply,
Exhaling completely.
You are brave,
You are strong,
You can face this.
Now visualize yourself at the end of the procedure,
Waking up again to see a loved one,
To see someone there ready to help,
Ready to be by your side.
And for some of us,
We are all we have.
We start this life alone,
We end this life alone.
And there's many times in between that we must be alone.
And we will get through this,
No matter what.
We are strong enough.
You are strong enough.
So visualize yourself healing after this,
The days,
The weeks,
Each day getting stronger,
Feeling more confident,
Watching the miracle of life and healing,
Admiring ourself for being so strong and brave and facing the unknown and getting through a difficult challenge.
Now repeat these affirmations in your mind.
My body is healthy and well.
My body is healthy and well.
I am strong enough to face pain and fear.
I am strong enough to face pain and fear.
I will ask for help because I am truly loved by those around me.
I will ask for help because I am truly loved by those around me.
My body is miraculous and can heal itself.
My body is miraculous and can heal itself.
I love myself unconditionally and will get through this.
I love myself unconditionally and will get through this.
Now bring yourself back to your breath and your body,
Allowing yourself to soften one more time,
Letting go,
Accepting what is to come,
Choosing to embark on this adventure with grace,
Strength,
Knowing that you will be okay.
The lotus blossom only blooms in the murky mud.
And right now,
We may have mud all around us,
But don't be afraid for the growth that is to come.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Look around your space,
Put your arms around you,
Give yourself gentle touch.
Allow a smile to grace your lips,
Even if you don't want to.
Take a deep breath.
Thank you so much for joining me during this difficult time.
We are stronger than we think.
You are stronger than you think.
Just believe,
Visualize,
And have faith.
Until next time,
I wish you vitality,
Health,
And love.
Be well.
