Welcome to this 10 minute meditation,
The doorway to calm.
You want to begin in a comfortable seated or reclined position.
Once you're there,
Take a moment to arrive.
Let your eyes close gently or maybe you soften your gaze and allow your breath to move naturally.
No need to change anything.
Just notice,
You are here,
You are safe.
Feel the weight of your body,
Let yourself be held by the ground beneath you.
With each breath,
Give yourself permission to slow down.
In your mind's eye,
Imagine you're standing in a peaceful hallway.
There's a soft light,
Warm and gentle,
Surrounding you.
Ahead of you is a simple wooden door,
It looks old,
Familiar and inviting.
As you take a step closer,
You notice the door has your name on it.
It is your doorway to calm,
To peace,
To inner stillness.
Place your hand on the door,
Feel the coolness of the handle.
When you're ready,
Slowly open it.
As the door opens,
A wave of tranquility washes over you.
Step through gently,
You are now entering a space just for you,
A sanctuary within.
Take in your surroundings,
Maybe it's a lush forest,
A cozy world,
Quiet,
Wherever you are,
It feels deeply safe,
Still,
Peaceful.
Notice the air here,
How it feels on your skin.
Notice how your breath begins to soften without any effort at all.
You have arrived in your inner calm.
Breathe in and imagine a soft golden light filling your body.
Breathe out and feel the tension leaving,
Like smoke dissolving into the sky.
Inhale calm,
Exhale release.
Inhale steady,
Exhale soften.
With each breath,
The sanctuary becomes more vivid,
More real,
More peaceful.
Slowly begin to return to the space you're in.
But know this,
The door is always there.
At any time,
You can come back to it.
You carry the key inside your breath.
Picture yourself gently closing the door behind you.
Thank it for being there.
Begin to bring your attention back to your body,
To the ground beneath you,
To the sound of your breath.
Take a moment to notice how you feel,
Perhaps a little lighter,
A little more anchored.
When you're ready,
Take a deep breath in.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
And when it feels right,
Slowly open your eyes.
You are calm.
You are safe.
You are home.
