Stop.
Whatever you are doing right now.
And just breathe with me for the next minute.
Taking deep breaths in through the nose,
Out through the nose.
Continually checking in with the breath.
Watching it,
Feeling it for the rest of the time we have together.
Sometimes we want to fly from one extreme emotion or situation to another.
Not realizing that serenity isn't found at either end of the spectrum,
But rather somewhere in the middle.
When we hang out in the middle,
Nothing can offend you.
Compassion and deep understanding towards others becomes easier to access when we pause,
When we allow,
And we remember that nobody is far away from where you are.
So go ahead and follow the good feeling,
Surrounding yourself with like-hearted people for support,
For comfort,
For love.
But don't forget to honor those who push your buttons,
For they are the gatekeepers to your growth,
To reaching your highest potential.
And remember,
This world we live in is not black and white.
I now know we live in the gentle harmony of the gray.
So keep visiting compassion,
Visiting love,
And most importantly,
Just be in this very moment.
