Hello beautiful souls,
This is June Bee and welcome to an amazing night's sleep.
Thanks for being here for another in the series Bedtime Tales with June Bee.
Today we will be going on a trip with a bumblebee to see where they end up and what fun we can have together.
So let's get into your favourite sleeping position,
And make sure you're comfortable.
Close your eyes,
Relax your muscles,
And slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing,
Slowing down the heart rate,
And let's take some nourishing breaths together.
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Last time,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Settle in now,
Get comfortable,
Let go of everything that happened today,
And let's relax together.
Let yourself focus on my voice,
If your mind wanders,
It's okay,
Slow and steady.
Let's go on our journey together.
There's a song called The Flight of the Bumblebee,
And if any of you know it,
What a song it is.
If you haven't heard it,
Well you're in for a treat.
It's a song that's full of so much joy,
Hope,
And laughter.
Take the time to check it out,
Then you'll know exactly why right now I'm smiling.
Today we are going on an imaginary trip with our friend the bumblebee,
And see what adventure awaits us.
Firstly,
Let me tell you about a beautiful poster that is up in NASA headquarters.
Did you know NASA has a poster hanging with bees that read,
Aerodynamically a bee's body is not meant to fly.
The good thing is the bee doesn't know that.
The law of physics says that a bee cannot fly.
The aerodynamic principle says that the breadth of its wings is too small to keep its huge body in flight.
A bee doesn't know that.
It doesn't know anything about physics,
Or aerodynamics,
Or logic,
And it flies anyway.
This is what we can all do.
Fly and prevail in every moment,
In the face of any difficulty,
And in any circumstance,
Despite what is going on.
Let us be bees.
No matter the size of our wings,
We take flight and enjoy the pollen of life.
Wow,
Isn't that amazing,
Right?
Some people say it's true,
And others say it isn't.
For me,
It doesn't matter,
Because the thought behind it is so beautiful.
Now is the time for us to open up our tiny wings and take flight.
Here are some fun facts about bumblebees.
Bumblebees harvest nectar and pollen from flowering plants.
They live in smaller groups than honeybees and do not tend to swarm.
Bumblebees hibernate underground.
Bumblebees will not die if they use their sting,
Whereas honeybees will.
Bumblebees scent mark flowers they have visited so they can always come back.
Bumblebees live for 28 days.
Bumblebees' large size and hairy coats keep them warm.
Bumblebees are quite playful,
Especially when they are young.
Isn't that beautiful to know that bumblebees have fun?
In their short 28 days,
They take time to have fun,
Collect pollen,
And enrich everyone's lives.
That is a great thing to know.
So imagine yourself with wings that are not the exact size for you.
Wings that have the strength to take you up and anywhere you want to go.
You are buzzing alongside our bumblebee for our tale tonight.
First thing is getting up and facing the day.
Oh,
This will be an eventful journey,
Brushing off our wings and away we go,
Looking all around at what is below us.
The land looks so green and lush.
We can smell through the tiny antenna on our heads.
And right about now,
The smell of pollen is overwhelming and something we cannot resist.
The smell is coming from this amazing looking garden below.
So let's take a little peruse at this beautiful garden below.
We can see people there relaxing on chairs,
Kids having fun in a paddling pool,
Dogs running around catching sticks,
Cats gently walking around not getting in anyone's way,
And soft music playing in the garden.
Oh,
Did I mention there's a barbecue going as well?
It seems like a perfect summer's day.
Who wouldn't want to go to a barbecue and have a barbecue?
So let's go down and enjoy this as well.
The flowers in this garden are open to their maximum and are swaying so gently in the breeze.
With each sway,
There are hundreds of flowers deposited into the air in an attempt to tease us.
So here we go.
The flowers are like on a runway,
All vying for our attention.
You dip in and dip out,
Extracting the golden and super water and loving the feeling of being free.
You fly up,
Avoiding that person,
Back down again,
And back up,
Looking all around and back down again.
Oh,
What an amazing life.
It's nice and warm outside.
You're able to fly as freely as you like and you're bopping from one flower to the next.
What a great way to live,
Free to enjoy the nectar of life whenever you want.
As you buzz around,
Think about how wonderful this day has been.
Think about being able to come back here at any time you're stuck or you're feeling down.
Think about being able to buzz around in any beautiful garden whenever you need to feel free.
These thoughts are so comforting to me and I'm so glad I can think on these positive things and enjoy this time with you.
It has been a wonderful day exploring life from a different perspective and I hope you feel the joy and fun too.
I'm not sure about you.
I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it,
So I'm ready to let go and fully surrender to sleep.
Thanks for joining me tonight and as you slowly drift away,
Have yourself a great night's sleep.
Looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series of Bedtime Tales with Joon B.
Good night.
