Welcome to the fifth and final meditation in this series.
Today we will be doing a visualization that will help you get focused and clear on the next steps you need to take to move forward in achieving your goals in meaningful and motivating ways.
Let's get started.
Take three deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Allow your body to get still and let any tension go with each exhalation.
Imagine that you are in a peaceful and calm place,
Maybe a meadow or a forest,
Somewhere where you can totally relax and let yourself feel at ease.
Take a moment to completely relax,
Knowing that you are safe in this imagined space.
Notice in the distance that someone is approaching.
As they get closer,
Realize that this is you.
It is your future self who has already accomplished all that you've set out to achieve.
Take note of what is different about your future self.
Are they smiling?
Have a healthy glow?
Do they radiate confidence?
What would you look like if you were already where you wanted to be?
Your future self approaches and is so excited to see you.
They greet you with complete warmth,
Maybe offering a hug.
You walk together for a moment and then take a seat.
Your future self turns towards you and asks,
How is it going?
You take a moment to share all the struggles and triumphs of the moment while your future self listens with complete attention.
Then you turn towards them and ask,
What do I need to do now in order to move towards where you are?
Listen for the answer.
Do your best to just be open to what they have to share.
If an answer doesn't appear right away,
Keep breathing and feeling open and curious.
The answer might be something as simple as taking a walk or calling a friend,
Or more complex like clearing out old beliefs or seeking expertise in what you're wanting to achieve.
Just listen for the answer.
It doesn't matter how big or small the action is.
Movement forward is always a good direction to go.
Also,
Be open to hearing answers that do not make immediate sense or don't feel related to your goal.
Oftentimes we overlook things that will bring us closer to what we want because we can't see how the dots connect.
Often there is a larger picture we're not aware of,
But in time will make sense.
Your future self may also not give any answers,
But just sit with you for a while in compassionate silence.
Relax,
Knowing that you will have access to this future self at any point and can keep asking for guidance.
Take another moment to soak in the answers and their presence.
Offer gratitude for anything you've received and the chance to connect.
Say goodbye,
Knowing that this meeting space is available at any time you need it.
Take three deep breaths and come back to your body and the space you are in.
Bring to mind the suggested action step your future self shared.
Notice how thinking about this action step feels in your body.
Do you feel excited,
Nervous,
Energized,
Or resistant?
Whatever the feeling,
Just take a moment to sit with and acknowledge it.
If you feel overwhelmed or resistant to taking this action,
Be gentle with yourself and return to meditation number four and see if there are any limiting beliefs that need to be addressed.
Okay,
Write down what action you're going to take.
Schedule time on the calendar.
Call a friend and let them know what you're doing so you have social accountability.
Take that action step and celebrate each movement forward.
Congratulations.
You are well on your way to taking action on achieving your most joyful and inspired life.
Remember to celebrate the fact that by listening to these meditations,
You have taken important time out to gain clarity about what is working,
What you'd like to change,
And how to go about making those changes.
You are way ahead of the curve in starting down this path,
And I encourage you to keep moving forward and taking time each day to create the life you want to live.
