This self-love meditation is specifically for Mamas.
Today we celebrate the miracle of your body.
We say thank you for everything our beautiful body is and everything it does,
For the life it gives us and all the things we take for granted.
Let's go within our body now.
Begin by sitting quietly,
Nice and still.
Adjust your body to allow it to settle into a comfortable position.
Your back straight,
Your shoulders dropped,
Your eyes gently closed.
Feel your feet as they touch the floor,
Connect it to the energy of the earth.
Feel the seat beneath you,
Supporting you.
Feel your hands resting in your lap,
Warm,
Comfortable.
Feel the muscles in your forehead relax,
Smoothing,
Softening.
Feel your jaw begin to melt.
Allow your tongue to rest into this quiet time.
Now we come to your breath.
Your breath is life,
Your breath is energy.
Right now let's nourish your body with your breath.
Place your hands on your belly,
Take a deep breath in,
Feel the air pass through your nose.
Now release your breath,
Feeling the air as it passes gently across your lips.
We continue to breathe now,
Allowing your breath to deeply and completely fill your body with comfort and energy.
Feel your belly expand as it makes way for this breath.
Now let it go and as you breathe out,
Breathe out anything you've been holding onto that you want to let go of.
Let it all go.
Wherever you go this breath is with you,
Your companion on life's journey.
Your breath can pause you,
Calm you,
Anchor you,
Nourish you,
Heal you.
So inhale your breath now and say thank you as it fills your body once more.
Thank you.
Now entwine your fingers and place both hands on your heart.
Breathe into your heart space.
Your heart is life.
Wherever you go it is there for you.
This very heart beneath your hands is with you throughout life.
For your highest moments and your lowest,
Love,
Joy,
Excitement,
Anger,
Fear.
So with all the warmth and energy of your hands on your heart,
Say thank you.
Take a nice deep breath.
Let it fill your heart space as you breathe gratitude and love into your life giving heart.
Take your heart now for the magic of its rhythm as it beats for you day after day,
Night after night.
Thank you.
Now move your hands to your thighs.
What a gift to be born in this form.
With these legs to carry you through your days.
For the ability to dance,
Skip,
Run,
Walk,
Swim.
What an absolute triumph of design your body is.
So hold your legs now.
Beneath the warmth of your nourishing hands,
Say thank you to your legs for carrying you through this life.
Thank you.
Now move your hands to your back.
Allow them to rest on either side of your spine.
Feel your back straighten.
Feel it solid.
This is your body's central support.
Say thank you now for the ability to sit,
Walk,
Bend,
Stand sure.
Your spine is with you at all times carrying you through this life.
So now with the nurturing warmth of your hands,
Give your spine the support it gives you.
Take a breath in and as you fill your body with air,
Breathe gratitude now into your strong supporting spine.
Thank you.
Now cup your hands over your eyes,
Let them rest deeply now under the soothing blanket of the palm of your hands.
These eyes that open for you to let you see the beauty of the world.
The sunrise at dawn.
The darkness cover the earth at the close of the day.
These eyes that let you connect into the eyes of your loved ones.
These eyes that let you take in the earth and all its natural glory.
Your sight is a gift.
So now with your hands over your eyes,
Take a breath in,
Breathe your appreciation now for everything you love your eyes have allowed you to see.
Thank you.
Now move your hands back to your belly where your body performed the ultimate miracle.
Creating and growing life itself from a tiny seed to a human right here in your beautiful body.
And yourself now,
This belly beneath your hands nourished and nurtured your very own child.
This body was your child's first home.
Take a deep breath in and say thank you for all that it did to perform miracles.
Thank you.
Take your arms and wrap yourself in a hug.
Hold yourself with firm,
Gentle love.
These are the arms that have rocked your baby.
Held little ones close to your chest to ease any pain or dry their tears and impart the deep unconditional adoration you have for your child.
These are the arms that took your babies into bed at night.
Your arms provide so much comfort for others.
Now let them comfort you.
Thank you.
Now take your hands and bring them together close to your heart in prayer pose.
I want you to repeat after me.
I will cherish this body as my home.
I appreciate my body.
I care for my body.
I love my body.
I honor my body.
I respect my body.
I am proud of my body.
Now when you feel ready you can gently open your eyes.
Happy Fourth of July!
You
