Welcome.
We'll begin by finding a comfortable position You're welcome to choose between laying down or being seated.
Just make sure that you're comfortable,
Your joints,
Your back are all supported.
Please know that you're always welcome throughout a practice to shift and change into a more comfortable,
Supported position.
Before we begin,
In today's practice we are going to bring our attention to first our left kidney and the left adrenal glands and then we'll bring it over to the right kidney in the right adrenal glands and move over to the brainstem and then afterwards we will bring our attention to all the three points and we will take about a minute to let the body settle from the practice.
Let's begin.
Notice your breath coming in and out of the body and just noticing how the body moves with each breath without even having to force yourself to breathe.
Notice how the body knows how to breathe on its own.
Really feeling that breath coming into the body and really noticing the breath coming out feeling the movement of the abdomen and feeling that air moving in and out of your nose and we'll bring our attention to that first point,
That left kidney in the left adrenal glands located right in the backside underneath your rib cage on the left side of your mid-back.
Just for a moment here,
Just really feeling the presence of these two organs the left kidney with that little adrenal gland sitting right on top For a moment here,
Just really feeling the presence of your left kidney and your left adrenal glands being held inside of your body inviting that left kidney and the left adrenal glands to perhaps soften inviting them perhaps to lean softly into each other For a few moments here,
We're going to invite them to rest There's nothing to do,
Nowhere to go We're inviting some gentleness,
Some space inside that left kidney and that left adrenal glands Knowing that this part of our body keeps us healthy,
Makes sure that we have enough energy for the day For a moment here,
We invite it to soften and rest Letting it be heavy Allowing the body to hold and carry them Soften and perhaps sense a gentle warmth radiating inside that left kidney and the left adrenal glands.
Really feeling that gentle warmth expanding throughout both the organs Inviting that warmth to radiate outwards into the rest of the body Now we begin to shift that awareness across and over your back to the right side this time Again,
Right underneath that lower rib cage on the right backside is your right kidney about the size of our fist.
Sitting right on top of that right kidney is the right adrenal glands This one looks a little bit like a mini pyramid For a few moments here,
It's really sensing to the presence of both of those organs inside of your body Knowing that it is being held and protected inside that rib cage That rib cage is being held and protected by your skin Allowing yourself to really feel the fluid weight inside of that right kidney and the right adrenal glands Inviting both of that organs to soften Inviting some space into that right kidney and the right adrenal glands Allowing both of those organs in this moment to rest There's nothing to do,
Nowhere to go right now Imagine perhaps that right adrenal glands just melting and leaning in to that right kidney below it Feeling that softening and perhaps allowing that softening to expand outwards into the surrounding organs We'll begin to slowly bring that attention really gently up your spine and into the brainstem area which is right at the base of the skull,
At the top of the spine Just for a moment here,
Feel into the space in that area of your body That space where the spine and the skull meet Relax and invite that brainstem area to perhaps soften Inviting it to rest This is the part of our body that makes sure that everything functions the way it should The brainstem makes sure that our body breathes without us even having to consciously do so It makes sure that our heart beats so that we don't have to try to remember to do it ourself In this particular moment,
We ask it to soften,
To rest and we acknowledge how much work it does for us every single day Visualize oxygen and blood flow coming into that area of your body,
That brainstem allowing it to nourish that part of you With each inhalation,
Really sense and visualize that oxygen and the blood flow coming into that brainstem area and letting it take in that nourishment,
That support Now we begin to bring that awareness to all the three points to that brainstem,
That left kidney and adrenals,
That right kidney and adrenals and as if there is an invisible line that connects all the three points of your body almost creating a triangle shape,
Allowing all that three points to connect to each other Letting them deepen all at once as we bring our attention to the brainstem,
The left and right kidneys and adrenal glands As the three points deepen,
We continue to invite softness into those three areas of our body the brainstem,
The left kidney and adrenal glands and the right kidney and the right adrenal glands With that acknowledgement that these three parts of our body works really hard for us every single day perhaps offering some thanks Thank you for supporting me,
For making sure that I'm healthy and that I'm okay Again,
We support that three points,
The brainstem,
The left kidney,
Adrenals,
The right kidney,
Adrenals We begin to slowly allow that awareness to fade away and we'll take a few moments here in silence practice You can begin to notice your body moving with the breath and perhaps bringing your hands,
Placing it on the side of your hips and perhaps silently letting your body know that the practice has come to a close Thank you for being here with me today
