Hi.
I'm really glad you're here.
If today has felt difficult,
I'm sorry.
I don't know exactly what's happened or what you're carrying.
But I'm grateful you've chosen to spend these next few minutes here with me.
Let's not worry about making today better right away.
Let's simply make it a little less lonely.
Take a slow,
Comfortable breath in.
And gently breathe out.
Notice the support beneath your body.
The chair.
The badge.
The sofa.
The ground beneath your feet.
For the next few minutes,
Allow yourself to stop trying quite so hard.
You don't have to hold everything together while you're here.
Some days simply ask more of us than others.
Sometimes it's one difficult conversation.
Sometimes it's disappointing news.
Sometimes it's stress that has been building for weeks.
And sometimes you wake up feeling emotionally tired without being able to explain why.
Whatever today has been.
It's okay if you don't have words for it.
You don't need to.
Let's just sit here for a little while.
Take another gentle breath.
If we were together in the same room,
We probably wouldn't feel the need to fill every silence.
We could simply share the space maybe with a warm drink.
Maybe looking out of the window.
Maybe saying very little.
Because on difficult days,
Presence often matters more than perfect words.
So let this simply be a quiet moment of company.
Nothing to achieve.
Nothing to solve.
Just breathing.
Just resting.
Just being here.
Take another slow breath.
I wonder how much you've been carrying without anyone really noticing.
The things you've worried about.
The decisions you've had to make.
The feelings you've kept to yourself because explaining them felt like too much.
That can become incredibly tiring.
And if today feels heavier because of that.
I hope you'll meet yourself with the same kindness you will offer someone you love.
Because difficult days deserve gentleness.
Notice your breathing again.
And And out.
The breath doesn't ask you to have everything figured out.
It simply keeps meeting you where you are.
Perhaps that is something we can practice today too.
Meeting ourselves where we are.
Not where we think we should be.
Not where we hoped we'd be.
Just here this version of today.
This version of you.
Take another slow breath.
Whatever is waiting for you later can wait a few more minutes.
This moment belongs only to you.
A small pause.
Quiet reset.
A reminder that even difficult days come and go.
Before we finish,
I'd like to leave you with one thought.
You don't have to carry today perfectly.
You only have to move through it one moment at a time.
Sometimes that's enough.
Take one final slow breath in.
And gently breathe out.
Thank you for letting me spend these few quiet minutes with you.
I hope they brought a little steadiness to your day.
And if they did,
Perhaps you'll carry that feeling with you into whatever comes next.
If this practice resonated with you today,
You might also find support in my 10-day course,
Understanding Loneliness.
Together we'll explore why loneliness affects us so deeply.
How it shapes the way we think,
Feel and connect.
And gentle ways to begin reconnecting with yourself,
With others and with life.
Until next time.
Take care of yourself.
