Peace.

I'm Joy,

A holistic wellness educator and coach,

And I use human design in my practice to support people with reconnecting and realigning with their natural energy the way it's always been meant to flow.

And today,

We're going to explore the concepts of definition,

Openness,

And conditioning in human design,

Three important pieces that help us understand how our energy interacts with the world around us.

In human design,

Our charts show us which energy centers are defined,

Which are open,

And how that shapes our experiences and self-perception.

Our defined centers represent consistent energy we naturally carry within us.

This is where our authentic energy is more fixed and reliable,

What we bring to the world without needing anyone or anything outside of us to activate it.

You will recognize your defined centers on your chart as the centers that are colored in.

Our open centers are where we take in energy from the world around us.

These areas are more flexible and adaptive,

Which makes them powerful places for learning,

Growth,

And wisdom.

But because they are open,

They are also more vulnerable to conditioning,

Taking on other people's beliefs,

Emotions,

And ways of operating as if they are our own.

You'll recognize open centers as the ones that are not colored in,

Or white,

On your human design chart.

Conditioning often happens so subtly that we don't even realize it's shaping us.

It can show up as patterns of behavior,

Beliefs,

Or emotional reactions that feel like our normal way of operating.

But because they're energetically misaligned,

They can create feelings of stress,

Burnout,

Inadequacy,

Or self-doubt.

When we've experienced these patterns for so long,

We may come to believe that those feelings are just who we are,

Or that there's something wrong with us that needs to be fixed.

But the truth is,

Those feelings are signals,

Like a misalignment light on a car,

Letting us know that something needs adjusting,

Not that we're broken or in need of repair.

For example,

If you have an open emotional solar plexus,

You may have grown up feeling responsible for keeping the peace or managing other people's emotions,

Even if that isn't how your energy naturally operates.

Over time,

That pattern can become so familiar that it feels like a part of your personality,

Even if it creates stress or anxiety.

Recognizing where conditioning has shaped how we show up is the first step toward deconditioning,

Releasing what isn't ours so we can reconnect with who we truly are.

Deconditioning isn't about rejecting everything we've learned or experienced.

It's about learning to discern what's truly ours from what we've taken on from others.

It's a process of coming home to ourselves,

Layer by layer,

With more compassion and less judgment.

One of the most supportive ways to start this process is simply by paying attention.

Notice how you feel in different environments,

Around certain people,

Or in different situations.

Are there patterns of behavior or emotions that feel heavy,

Draining,

Or out of alignment with how you desire to feel?

These could be signs of conditioning at play.

We'll explore more about deconditioning practices and how it relates to the openness in the human design chart in future talks.

But for now,

I invite you to approach this journey with gentleness.

It's not about fixing anything or getting it all perfect.

It's about creating space to listen more deeply to your own energy and trust what you find there.
