Welcome to this forest walk for bed.
As you settle into your bed ready for sleep,
Make yourself as comfortable as possible.
Take a moment to feel into your body and see if you need to make any changes to your
position,
Your clothes or your blanket.
And take a moment to find a few deep breaths.
And each time you breathe out,
You can choose to make a little noise,
To blow out the air
in a big sigh.
That feels good,
To sigh out the day.
Maybe do that one more time,
Breathe in and sigh it out.
You don't have to immediately close your eyes if you don't want to.
It's okay just to relax your eyelids,
To lower your gaze.
You'll close them when you're good and ready.
I invite you to imagine a quiet forest on the outskirts of a peaceful village.
You stand at the edge of the forest.
The sun is beginning to set.
It's casting a warm golden glow through the tall trees.
The birds sing their evening songs and the air is filled with the soothing sound of
rustling leaves.
As you look in front of you,
There is a path that leads into the forest.
Before you start a walk on it,
Take in the earthy scent of the forest floor.
The path before you is well trodden.
It's safe.
And you begin your leisurely walk.
Feel the soft ground beneath your feet.
The forest embraces you with its natural tranquility.
It welcomes you.
The trees are tall and majestic.
Their branches form a canopy overhead.
It's filtering the sunlight into a gentle dappled pattern on the path.
As you walk deeper into the forest,
You admire the bumpy bark of an ancient oak tree.
You can see that each tree has a unique pattern and texture.
You can see the leaves of the maple tree flutter in the breeze,
Their green hues flowing
into shades of amber and brown.
You come across a grove of pine trees.
Their needles have formed a mushy carpet beneath your feet.
And with each step,
You release the fresh invigorating scent of pine into the air.
If you like.
You can stand still to run your fingers over the rough,
Textured bark of a pine tree and
breathe in deeply,
Savouring the clean,
Grounding forest scent.
Mind you,
The forest comes alive with colours.
The delicate pink and white blossoms of trees add a touch of light.
There's fiery red leaves of different bushes.
They contrast beautifully against the deep green of the pines.
The forest floor is a tapestry of rich browns,
Greens and emeralds.
The forest floor is alive with texture.
Soft mosses carpet the bases of trees,
Creating a lush,
Velvety cushion.
You can touch them if you like.
You're safe in this forest.
Tiny mushrooms,
Like little umbrellas,
Spring up from the forest floor in all kinds of shapes
and colours.
They are funny little guys,
These mushrooms.
And they are happy to see you seeing them.
If you would like to touch them,
You'll find that some are smooth as porcelain,
While others
are knobbly like sandpaper.
The forest is alive with sweet and subtle sounds.
The wind whispers through the leaves,
Creating a gentle,
Soothing rustle.
You hear the distant call of a woodpecker and the rhythmic croak of a happy frog near
the stream.
These sounds blend harmoniously.
They make a peaceful symphony of nature.
On your walk,
Occasionally,
You come across small clearings,
Where sunlight filters through
more brightly.
In these clearings,
You'll find patches of soft moss that invite you to sit and rest
for a while.
You can feel the cool,
Gentle texture of the moss beneath your hands as you take a moment
to simply be,
Allowing the forest serenity to wash over you.
You continue along your path and you find the wooden bridge that spans a little stream.
You cross it with ease,
The wound creaking softly underfoot.
On the other side,
You find a comfortable,
Sun-dappled spot beside the stream.
The water sparkles as it flows over smooth stones,
Inviting you to sit and listen to
this gentle,
Rhythmic song.
You close your eyes for a moment,
Feeling the warmth of the setting sun on your face.
Feeling the soft breeze rustle your hair.
The forest has a way of grounding you,
Connecting you to the natural world and allowing you
to find peace within.
As the sun dips below the horizon,
You continue your walk deeper into the forest.
You know you're safe and welcome in this forest.
The path leads you to a clearing bathed in the soft,
Golden light of twilight.
In the center of this clearing stands a funny little house.
You can see the walls of the house are a warm,
Honeyed wood.
The house looks warm and cozy.
You approach the house and a gentle breeze carries the scent of home,
Inviting you inside.
If you like,
You can go inside this house and as you step through the door,
You find
the cozy room with a soft,
Inviting bend.
This is your place of rest and relaxation,
A sanctuary nestled in the heart of the tranquil
forest.
You can lay down on the comfortable bed,
If you like,
Where you're surrounded by the
soothing sounds of the forest night.
The breeze rustles the leaves outside and you can hear the distant hooting of an owl.
As you close your eyes and drift into a peaceful slumber,
You carry the memory of your gentle
forest stroll and the warmth of the little house with you,
Finding solace in the simple
beauty of the natural world.
You hear the forest sounds,
But you are warm and safe in your little house.
Good night and sweet dreams.
