This meditation was created as part of a collaborative retreat taught in Sligo,
Ireland at Temple House Estate.

Stand tall,
Legs spread,
Feet distance apart.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Let your eyes close.
Let the closing of your eyes signal to your body that you are ready to enter a calming state of meditation.
Take another long,
Deep breath in,
Filling your lungs and breathing in that fresh Irish air.
And as you exhale,
I want you to imagine roots like a tree extending from the soles of your feet and not your fingers into the ground.
With every inhale you take,
I want you to imagine that you are nourishing and strengthening every cell of your body.
Really envision that breath hitting every cell,
Awakening dormant energy to revitalize it with vitality and purpose.
And then with every exhale,
You're magnifying the roots deeper into the earth,
Solidifying the vitality.
Inhale nourish,
Exhale magnify.
Feel the heaviness and connectivity to mother earth.
Allow the energy from the roots to vibrate up through the soles of your feet,
Your calves,
Your thighs,
Up your shins,
Over your knees,
Up your thighs,
Hips,
Belly,
Chest,
Your arms,
Over your neck,
And washing up your face.
With your next inhale,
Can you extend that energy to the field just above your head?
Can you feel your personal energy bubble grow?
And then can you grow your bubble a little more with every breath,
Extending your own personal radiance and using that grounding energetic field,
Locking into the nature around you.
Inhale nourish,
Exhale ground and grow.
As you continue breathing and strengthening your connection to the earth,
I'd like to invite you to set an intention.
What would you like to gain from this week away in nature?
How would you like to nourish and grow?
Take five more deep breaths in,
Long breath out.
Inhale nourish,
Exhale ground and grow.
Now open your eyes and put a smile on your face and begin to move.
Move in any manner that brings you joy,
Walk,
Run,
Saunter.
Feel your body and the beauty that surrounds you.
Keep walking through movement.
Every cell is bathed in light and energy,
Thriving in perfect balance.
Inhale nourish,
Exhale expand.
Expand and grow.
Stop walking,
Stand still and close your eyes.
Reconnect with the earth and steady your breathing.
Feel the wind on your face and notice the smells around you.
And once again,
Ground down.
Settle back into stillness.
I invite you to focus your attention inward,
Noticing the inner workings of your body.
What can you feel?
Does one side feel different than the other?
Are you able to stand a little taller?
Grounding down through your feet and lifting the crown of your head up to the sky.
Can you reclaim those roots you grew earlier?
Grounding down while simultaneously lifting up to the sky.
Letting your energy grow.
Take a big breath in.
Roll your shoulders up to the back and down.
Relaxing your arms at the side of your body,
Palms facing forward.
Take another deep breath in.
Long breath out.
I rise this day with elements of the universe,
With the sky's first whisper,
The golden sunlight through the shadow,
And the moonlight's weaving calm.
I rise with the fire of an untamed song in my chest,
With lightning's leap in every step,
And wind that dances through the unseen realms.
While the deep sea's hush cradles my soul,
I rise with the patience of the mountain,
The memory of stone beneath my feet,
And the steady pulse of earth holding me upright,
As stars bear witness to my becoming.
You may now open your eyes and take this grounding sensation with you as you carry on throughout your day.
