Okay,
Everybody.
Here we are,
Lying here on Sunday afternoon,
Comfortably lying on our backs,
Feeling the ground beneath us,
Lying and knowing that we're lying.
We're going to take a journey into the woods.
We're going to take a deep breath in,
Expanding our diaphragms,
And all the way out,
Releasing into the floor.
One more time.
Deep breath in,
All the way out,
Sinking further into the floor.
As you feel the ground beneath you,
I want you to visualize you're standing on the edge of a forest.
You can see nothing but green trees in front of you.
This deep wooded forest,
Dark,
Leafy,
Expansive in front of you.
As you take a step forward,
You feel heavier,
And you're going deeper,
Calmer into relaxation.
You take another step forward,
And you're about to enter the night's forest.
And on one more step in,
You're surrounded by trees.
The wind on your face makes you go calmer,
Deeper,
Free of stress.
You can feel the leaves underneath your feet.
The only sounds around you are the sounds of spring.
Birds to your left,
Wind to your right,
And leaves underfoot.
As you continue your journey through the woods,
You look up,
And you can see the bright blue sky peeking above the trees.
You continue to walk,
Noticing the sounds of nature around you.
You can feel the wind on your face,
The heaviness of the air.
What do you smell?
What kind of trees surround you?
As you continue to walk,
You notice a smile forming across your face.
You feel light like the wind as it carries you through the trees.
With every step,
You're becoming calmer,
Going deeper into self.
And as you look around,
You can see a clearing.
You are being called towards this clearing.
And every step you take,
You release a worry,
Leaving it with the leaves behind you.
And the next step,
You notice you feel happier.
The next step,
Lighter.
The next step,
Elated.
And the next,
Joyful.
You can feel the air getting lighter and warmer.
The trees are becoming thinner,
Fewer of them.
As you are walking through the forest,
You notice a different smell.
It brings a smile across your face.
It reminds you of something.
And you walk a bit quicker.
You can see the edge of the forest.
You're excited.
Your pace quickens.
There's childlike joy.
What is at the edge of the forest?
You're three steps away.
You're about to clear and leave the wooded trees behind you.
And like a breath of fresh air,
You find yourself in an open field,
Rolling hills as far as you can see.
You can feel the sun shining upon you,
And it makes you want to sing.
You feel like a small entity within the beauty of Mother Nature.
And as you look around,
You are filled with the thought,
I am enough.
And like a kid,
You open your arms and twirl around,
Repeating to the depths of the earth,
I am enough.
From your diaphragm,
Through the throat,
Releasing for all to hear,
Declaring,
I am enough.
And when you're done,
You lay down in the grass,
A smile on your face,
Lying.
And knowing that you're lying,
You're beginning to feel the grass on your heels,
Up your calves,
The back of your thighs,
Your back,
And your head.
And as you count down from five to one in your own time,
You will return from our grassy space to the mat on this Sunday afternoon.
