Welcome to Owl Wisdom,

Yoga Nidra Sleep Story.

I'm Kalyani,

And I'm deeply honored you've chosen to join me tonight.

In many spiritual traditions,

Owls embody wisdom,

Intuition,

And the ability to see beyond illusions.

They are messengers of the spirit world,

Guiding us toward transformation and deeper self-awareness.

Tonight we'll journey to meet a wise old owl in an enchanted forest.

But first,

Let's prepare by settling deeply into relaxation.

Begin by finding a comfortable position that feels nurturing for your body.

Perhaps lying down or sitting,

Supported by blankets or pillows.

Create a cozy nest where you feel completely at ease,

Inviting your body to rest while your mind remains gently aware.

We want to be so comfortable that we can move beyond the physical body.

Dive deeper and deeper within,

Inviting the mind to drift away from the body.

That happens when you feel at ease,

Supported and held.

Mind aware,

Body at rest.

Take a moment to snuggle under your blanket,

Its warmth embracing you in a layer of protection and ease.

Allow your breath to soften and lengthen,

Waves of inspiration effortlessly falling in and out.

Take a deep breath in,

Filling your lungs with peace and ease,

And exhale,

Releasing all stress and tension from today.

For the next three breaths,

Let's use our breath like a cleansing tool.

Inhaling through the nose,

Gather all negativity.

Exhaling through the mouth,

Let it all go.

Inhaling,

Gather all stress and tension,

And sigh it out.

Finally,

Inhale everything that no longer serves you,

And exhaling,

Set yourself free.

Now allow your mouth to close gently,

And begin to breathe in and out of your nose.

I invite you to gently close your eyes if you haven't already,

And take a few more slow,

Deep breaths to really settle in.

Allow the gentle rhythm of your breath to guide you deeper into comfort and ease,

Your mind becoming a still lake,

Its surface reflecting passing thoughts like clouds in the sky.

Allow thoughts to drift without clinging,

Responding gently to whatever arises from within.

Now call to mind a heartfelt intention,

Known as a sankopa.

This is a positive,

Present tense statement that resonates with your deepest self,

Such as I am at peace,

Or I trust my inner wisdom.

Silently repeat your sankopa three times,

Planting it like a seed in your heart and mind.

Now together,

Let's embark on a journey of sensation throughout the body,

Releasing tension and awakening awareness.

Follow my voice,

Resting your attention lightly on each area,

Without effort or judgment.

You cannot do this wrong.

Begin with your right hand.

Rest your attention for a moment on discovering sensation on the tips of your right fingers.

Explore for a moment,

Do they feel tingly,

Warm or vibrating,

Or nothing at all?

There is no right answer,

Simply notice.

Flow your awareness to your right thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger.

Feel sensations in the palm of your right hand,

The back of your hand growing heavy.

Wrist.

Welcome your right forearm to soften.

Elbow.

Upper arm.

Feel your right shoulder,

Invited to soften into the support of the surface beneath you.

Fully supported.

Now shift to your left hand.

Rest your attention for a moment on discovering sensation on the tips of your left fingers.

Alive with sensation,

Warm or calm,

Observing without judgment.

Shine the spotlight of your attention on your left thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger.

Feel sensations in the palm of your left hand,

The back of your hand growing heavy.

Wrist.

Allow your forearm to relax.

Elbow.

Upper arm.

Invite your left shoulder to let go.

Releasing all burdens.

There is nothing more you need to do.

Simply follow the sound of my voice with curiosity.

Bring awareness to your torso.

Observe your chest and ribs like a passageway of the breath,

Creating a clear channel for prana and the breath to move through.

Feel the rise and fall of each breath in the belly.

Sense your upper back,

Middle back,

Low back.

Invite your abdomen to soften even more as your hips rest heavily into your bed.

Notice sensation in your right upper leg,

Your knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle.

Feel your whole right foot,

The heel,

The sole,

The top of the right foot,

And all five toes.

Rest your awareness for a moment on sensations in the tips of your right toes,

The entire right leg heavy,

At ease,

Resting deeply.

Notice sensation in your left upper leg,

Your knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle.

Feel your whole left foot,

The heel,

The sole,

The top of the left foot,

And all five toes.

Rest your awareness for a moment on sensations in the tips of your left toes,

The entire left leg heavy,

At ease,

Resting deeply.

Allow both legs to completely relax and release.

Bring awareness to your pelvic floor,

Your lower abdomen,

And the whole spine.

Feel your entire back body resting fully.

Notice your neck,

The back of your head and scalp.

Soften your jaw,

Your cheeks,

Your eyes and forehead.

Welcome your entire face to relax as if it's floating in a pool of calm.

Right eye,

Both eyes together.

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Both cheeks together.

Right ear,

Left ear,

Ears hearing sounds,

Bottom jaw heavy,

Whole mouth,

Creating space between upper and lower teeth.

Rest for a moment in the space between the teeth.

Observe any residual tastes on your tongue.

Right nostril,

Left nostril,

Both nostrils together.

Observing the aroma of the space around you.

Feel your whole body now as one field of awareness from head to toe.

Notice the temperature of the air on your skin.

The weight of your clothes and blanket.

The stillness of your mind and body.

Deeply connected,

Tranquil and aware.

Deeply relaxed yet awake.

Ready to journey deeper within.

Now let's travel to a peaceful place far,

Far away.

In search of the legendary wise old owl.

He lives in the heart of a vast and mysterious enchanted forest.

From the outside the forest looks like any other.

Beautiful majestic trees.

So tall they seem to kiss the sky.

Leaves floating down to the earth below.

Creating a crunch of autumn leaves underfoot.

As we travel deeper and deeper into the forest.

The air carries the earthy scent of pine,

Damp soil and a hint of wildflowers.

Grounding you in this moment.

Sunlight filters through the impressive canopy of leaves overhead.

Casting golden beams on the forest floor.

Warming your skin and filling you with peace.

Tranquility blends with excitement and awe.

As we travel along the forest path.

This forest is alive.

A place of wonder where trees whisper.

Animals speak.

And magical beings dance in the shadows.

Only those with open hearts may enter.

As you step forward the forest welcomes.

Birds sing overhead.

And an occasional owl's hoot guides you on your path.

The wind hums through the branches.

Blending with the rustle of squirrels.

And the buzz of insects.

Creating a symphony of life.

As you reach the forest's heart everything shifts.

A glimmering light appears.

A radiant portal pulsing with warm inviting energy.

A welcome tear in the fabric of reality.

Feel it shimmer and pulse.

The heartbeat of your dreams coming true.

You glimpse a kaleidoscope of colors illuminated just beyond the portal.

You close your eyes and wish with all your heart and step through.

When you blink your eyes open you realize you have entered a magical land.

Unlike any other.

A place where the ordinary gives way to the extraordinary.

Steeped in magic and mystery.

You emerge in a magical realm.

Where ancient trees gleam with jewel-like leaves.

And glowing moss drips from branches.

The forest floor is carpeted with vibrant wildflowers.

And soft moss glowing faintly under your bare feet.

A gentle breeze caresses your skin.

And the sweet scent of blossoms fills the air.

Playful fairies flit in the shadows.

Their wings like stained glass.

Giggling just out of reach.

A sly fox with shimmering eyes approaches.

Sent by the forest spirits to guide you.

You follow him along a crystal clear stream.

Its surface sparkling like starlight.

The sun dips towards the horizon.

Painting the sky in hues of gold and crimson.

Your mind is still and your heart is full.

As you drink in all of the magic and beauty all around you.

After some time,

The fox leads you to a clearing.

Then slips away with a knowing smile.

Before you sits a magnificent great horned owl.

Perched on a branch.

His ethereal white feathers glowing faintly under the rising moon.

He is beautiful beyond words.

Wrapped in an air of mystery and grace.

Radiant,

Elegant,

Stealthy and majestic.

His luminous golden eyes radiate wisdom and calm.

Seeing through all illusions.

You meet his gaze and time stands still.

As if he is seeing deeply into your soul.

Such power and grace it almost leaves you breathless.

The air crackles with otherworldly energy.

Then softens as his voice.

Gentle yet resonant speaks to you.

Welcome seeker he says.

Your pure heart has granted you passage to my enchanted home.

You seek meaning and transformation.

I have come to guide you.

You may remember that I have come to you in your dreams.

To remind you to tap into your intuition and inner wisdom.

But I have some more guidance to share with you now.

Look at all situations with both your eyes and your heart.

And from more than one perspective or angle.

A six can look like a nine depending on where you stand.

So too can you get locked into a belief from just one perspective.

Things are rarely as they seem in the moonlight.

Truth hides in shadows and details.

Trust your inner voice.

When the forest whispers heed your instincts.

Your heart always knows the paths your feet have yet to tread.

Never allow outside noise to drown out that wise counsel.

Patience yields clarity.

The saying goes haste stirs the leaves but clouds the mind.

Wait,

Watch and listen.

The world reveals its secrets to those who pause.

A reaction happens immediately.

No thought involved.

A response happens after you have had a chance to breathe and think.

Practice responding.

Speak sparingly,

Act wisely.

Words are like feathers on the breeze.

Too many scatter.

Let your actions sing louder than your hoots.

Another way of saying that is we were given two ears and one mouth.

To listen more than we speak.

Adapt to the winds of change.

Life is change.

The storms of life will bend even the mightiest oak.

Be flexible young one.

Strength lies in bending without breaking.

Seek balance in all things.

Day and night.

Joy and sorrow.

Are all woven together.

Strive for harmony to avoid chaos.

Honor your past and embrace your future.

Every scar tells a story.

Yet every tree reaches for new springs.

Honor what was.

But soar toward what will be.

His eyes gleam with knowing.

Urging you to carry this wisdom beyond the forest.

After a shared moment of connection.

He tucks his head under his wing.

And drifts to sleep.

You linger filled with gratitude for his guidance.

Whispering a heartfelt thank you.

For his kindness and friendship.

His wisdom and love.

As you turn back.

The forest seems to shift.

Guiding you gently toward home.

Your skin feels alive with vibration.

Every sound is amplified yet softened.

Colors seem brighter.

Your heart is wide open.

Your mind is crisp and clear.

Like waking up from a mental fog.

Confusion evaporates.

An understanding clicks firmly into place.

You realize you have been changed forever by this adventure.

You have seen and experienced things that very few will ever witness.

You have learned to believe with every fiber of your being.

In the power of magic.

Wisdom.

Friendship.

And most importantly,

Your inner guidance.

These precious memories will be forever with you.

Tucked safely into your mind and heart.

The owl's wisdom will stay with you always.

The crunch of leaves underfoot returns.

You bask in the afterglow of your experience.

As you are magically transported back into your home.

And the familiar scents of your room surround you.

You feel the support of your bed.

The warmth of your blanket.

And the stillness of your body.

Your heart is full.
