Welcome to a love letter to the ocean,
The water meditation,
Part of the four element series.
My name is Katarina.
As you settle into your favorite meditation spot,
Take a moment to ease into your breath with a few gentle inhales and exhales,
Allowing yourself to relax.
Now imagine you are walking along a beautiful beach,
The white sand warm beneath your feet,
The blue ocean water glistening,
And the skies clear of any clouds.
As you walk along the shore,
The small waves kiss your toes,
And with each step you leave a footprint in the sand.
You take a moment to stop and look out at the vast ocean in front of you.
The waves continue to cover your feet with cool water,
Inviting you in.
Slowly you take a few steps into the water,
You allow the waves to brush up against your ankles and then your shins until you are knee deep.
The water feels so wonderful around you,
And so you continue to walk deeper and deeper in.
Now the waves are gently breaking behind you as you are waist deep.
You look around,
Touching the top of the water with your fingers.
The cool of the water feels so good.
You walk a few more steps until you are buoyant and your feet no longer touch the sand.
As you begin to float,
You allow the ocean to carry you,
Hold you in her arms.
Below you,
The water is so clear you can see to the bottom.
You notice a school of fish,
Curiously you watch as they swim by,
Minding their own business.
To them you are just another creature in this magnificent body of water,
And so why not join them?
With one big breath in,
You dive down under the water,
Allowing it to encapsulate your entire being.
Effortlessly you join the ocean world,
Among more colorful fish,
Coral,
Tiny crabs on the sand floor,
And a pod of dolphins in the distance.
Slowly exhale,
Let go of your breath.
You do not have to worry about being able to breathe underwater,
Because in this moment you are just one of the many sea creatures swimming around you.
And what an incredible sight you see before you,
Each creature swimming along carefree,
Not worrying about anything,
Simply living in the moment.
You notice dolphins playing together,
And a large whale with its baby gliding by.
You continue to swim in awe of this new world,
A world that coexists together naturally.
And so take a few minutes now to swim around and see what other ocean life you can find.
The What else did you see?
While you were lost in time,
The sun has begun to set.
You swim back to shore and sit on the sand,
Looking back at the ocean you just explored.
Thankful for its presence,
Full of life and healing.
The ocean is always here,
Waiting for you.
Thank you for meditating with me.
