Closing your eyes either fully or partially just for a moment noticing what it's like to be having your eyes closed being given permission giving your body permission to to rest for a moment how does it feel to be practicing this gesture of rest when we close our eyes we offer ourselves the comfort of lowered light or no light give our eyes a break from being stimulated by our environment how does it feel to have your eyes closed can you savor this experience of intentional rest for your body you if you notice that your eyes are busy even under your closed eyelids it's not a problem sometimes our eyes are working even when there's nothing in our external environment to see can you hold that with some kindness with some spaciousness I think our eyes closed might feel restful at one time and might feel stressful at another time whatever your experience can you allow that to be okay not a problem part of who you are you you you noticing what it's like to be inviting your energy to drop down a little it's intentional act of self-compassion in bringing yourself here to our practice circle can you feel your body relaxing a little more can you allow your body to do that in its own time once again if relaxation is not your experience in this moment can that be okay as well you what's important is that you have an intention of kindness towards yourself it's what brought you here as we're starting now to transition out of this little meditation maybe bringing your awareness to your closed eyelids for one more moment just noticing that sensation moving your awareness to your breathing for a couple of breaths you expanding your awareness out to your body as a whole you starting to move your fingers your toes your wrists your ankles your shoulders your torso very gently when you're ready opening your eyes maybe taking a look around the space that you're in just to orient yourself to this space being a stretch a sip of your drink
