Welcome,
Dear soul.
Today the sun and moon are meeting in the sign of Leo.
The Sign of the Lion.
The sign of the heart.
Also a fire sign.
And as they meet,
This new moon will cross the face of the sun.
And the sky will go dark.
This is a solar eclipse.
A moment when the world loses its strongest,
Loudest source of light.
Where now something quieter is finally allowed to be heard.
This is a meditation of tuning in.
Not turning up the volume.
Tuning in.
The way you would turn a dial slowly,
Carefully,
Until you find the frequency that was there all along.
The frequency soothing to your nervous system and soothing to your soul.
Allow yourself to settle.
The weight of you and your body to arrive fully wherever you are.
In your seat,
On your floor.
Your bed.
Maybe your favorite corner.
Arrive and gently close your eyes.
Now breathe in through the nose.
And out through the mouth.
Slowly.
And with sound.
Again.
Breathe in.
And out.
This time allow your exhale to be the first note you offer tonight.
Allow your sound intention to escape through your exhale.
Once settled and comfortable,
Imagine you are standing in a wide,
Golden field.
The sun is high and full.
Its light is everywhere.
Warm against your face,
Bright across the stones,
Flooding every corner it touches.
In this much light,
The world sounds loud.
Everything is visible.
Everything is calling for your attention.
And it is difficult.
In all the brightness.
To hear your quiet.
As you breathe,
You notice the quiet inside you.
Below the noise of the day.
Amongst such bright light there is your voice.
Not the voice you use to answer questions or to smooth things over or to say what others expect.
A deeper one.
The one that holds what is true.
And has been waiting.
Not to be rescued.
But to be heard.
Now look up.
A shadow is beginning to cross the edge of the sun.
The moon,
Invisible until now,
Is stepping forward.
And as it moves,
The light begins to soften.
The birdsong quiets.
The air cools.
The golden field dims.
Not to darkness,
But to something in between.
And as the outer world grows still.
Your inner hearing opens.
This is what the eclipse does.
It doesn't take the light away.
It turns down the noise so you can finally tune in.
The moon slides further across the sun.
A ring of fire around a circle of shadow.
Stars appear where there were none.
And the world holds its breath.
In this stillness.
Listen.
The voice is here.
It lives in your shadow,
Not the shadow that frightens,
But the shadow that holds everything you haven't yet said out loud.
The truths you set aside.
The knowing you've turned away from.
The things that wanted to be spoken and weren't.
Not because they were wrong.
But because the world was too bright and too loud to make room for them.
Now,
In the quiet of the eclipse,
There is room.
So tune in.
As if your heart were a dial and you were tuning it.
Dialing it.
Gently.
Toward truth.
What do you hear?
Whatever has come forward,
Allow it to stay.
No need to fix it.
No need to explain.
And deathly to not make it smaller.
This is the Lion's Voice.
Not a roar of fury,
A roar of knowing.
The lion speaks not to perform,
But to protect what matters.
And what matters right now is that you hear yourself.
That you do not shush what has risen.
That you let it be as large and as true as it is.
And now gently the shadow begins to move.
The moon slides on.
A crescent.
Of gold.
He turns at the edge of the sun.
Than more.
The birds begin to sing again.
Warmth returns.
But the voice inside you has not gone quiet.
It is resting now,
Not silenced,
Yet tuned.
You now know its frequency.
You know how to find it to tune in again.
The next time something true needs to be said,
You will not look to the sky for permission.
You will turn inward,
And you will listen,
And you will speak.
Because the lion in you has always known the way.
The lion here is showing you the way.
Now softly allow the landscape to fade.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
To the weight of your hands.
To the room where you began.
And before you open your eyes,
Place one hand on the center of your chest.
The other gently on your solar plexus.
This is where the frequency lives.
This is where truth tunes itself when you are still enough to listen.
When you are ready.
Gently open your eyes.
This new moon,
Solar eclipse,
And Leo invites you to tune into the voice you carry in your shadow.
The one that knows what is true.
And is waiting to be heard.
In the days ahead,
Notice where truth rises.
Allow it to speak.
Go gently.
Dear soul.
