This is your time to unwind,

To let the weight of the day melt away.

Nothing is required of you now,

Just allow yourself to be here,

To be held by the stillness of the night and when you're ready gently close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath.

Inhale slowly through your nose,

Exhale gently through your mouth,

Let each breath be a signal to your body,

It is safe to rest.

Could you even be one percent more comfortable?

Make those adjustments now and bring your awareness to your feet,

Feel them soften,

Relax your legs,

Let the tension in your thighs and hips simply dissolve,

Move your attention to your belly,

Let it rise and fall naturally with no effort,

Allow your chest to soften,

Shoulders dropping,

Arms loose and heavy,

Feel the weight of your body supported fully by the bed beneath you,

With each breath out imagine you are releasing a small burden,

Let go of what you have carried today,

The to-do lists,

The worries,

The expectations,

Each exhale is a gentle release,

Like placing a stone on the earth and walking away lighter,

Now imagine a soft silvery light above your head,

It begins to flow down over your head,

Washing over your mind,

Clearing away the thoughts that try to linger,

You don't need to solve anything now,

Everything can wait,

Right now there is only rest,

As this calming light moves through you,

Your body becomes heavier,

Calmer,

Quieter,

Your mind once busy is now like a still lake,

Clear and open,

Let yourself drift a little further,

Sinking deeper into the comfort of your bed as if the night itself is embracing you,

If a thought comes,

Smile at it gently,

Then let it pass like a cloud in the night sky,

You are safe,

You are loved,

You are enough just as you are,

Now allow yourself to float,

No effort,

No doing,

Just being,

Rest here in this place of stillness,

Let sleep take you gently,

You may stay here as long as you need,

There is nothing more to do,

Good night and blessings on your beautiful head,

Sleep well,

And so it is.
