Welcome to Yoga Nidra for Nervous System Reset.
Go ahead and lie down in a quiet,
Safe place.
Feel free to use any props that help your body feel held,
Blankets,
Eye pillows,
Bolsters.
Let your body know it's safe to rest.
This is your time,
Time for your nervous system to release its grip and return to balance.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Begin to bring awareness to your body.
Scan slowly from your toes to your head,
Feeling into the edges of where you hold tension.
Maybe even tension you didn't know was there.
No need to analyze or fix,
Just be present,
Just breathe.
With each exhale,
Allow something to soften,
Jaws,
Shoulders,
Belly,
Hands,
Feet.
Allow gravity to hold you.
Begin to notice your breath,
The gentle wave of inhale and exhale.
Make your exhale just slightly longer than your inhale.
Inhale deeply,
Exhale slowly,
Letting the exhale become an anchor,
A down-regulating signal to your nervous system.
Now,
Try inhaling through the nose,
Then exhaling through your mouth with a soft sigh.
Try that again,
Inhale through the nose,
Sigh it out through the mouth.
One more time,
Inhale through the nose,
Sigh it out through the mouth.
Repeat to yourself,
I am safe,
My body is allowed to rest.
I am safe,
My body is allowed to rest.
Let the Sankalpa's affirmation root into your body like a warm blanket.
Now,
Gently rotate your awareness through your body,
Feet,
Legs,
Abdomen,
Chest,
Back,
Hands,
Releasing,
Relaxing,
Relaxing,
Resting.
The whole body,
Calm,
Heavy,
Grounded.
With each breath,
Your body shifts deeper into that parasympathetic rest.
Your body knows how to reset itself,
You are just creating the conditions.
Return to your breath,
Inhaling and exhaling.
Begin to count down from 27 with each exhale.
With each number,
The body resets and rests,
Releasing more and more tension,
Relaxing deeper and deeper.
27,
26,
25,
24,
23,
22,
21.
18,

Envision a forest,
Tall trees,
A gentle stream,
The sound of birds fluttering around in the leaves,
Their soft songs singing to you,
Relying on soft moss held by the earth.
This place is safe,
Timeless.
With each breath,
You feel more at ease.
Your body and your mind aligns with nature's pace.
You are part of this forest,
Pulsing,
Alive.
I am safe,
My body is allowed to rest.
I am safe,
My body is allowed to rest.
I am safe,
My body is allowed to rest.
Begin to slowly bring back into your body,
Letting yourself linger in this peaceful space for just a moment or two longer.
Stay here for a few breaths,
Feeling the safety,
The peace and the rest that you have created for yourself.
Feel it so deeply that you are able to carry this reset with you throughout the rest of your day.
You can gently sit up and open your eyes.
