As you approach this meditation,
Know that there's nothing to do,
Nowhere to be except right here.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position.
Gently close your eyes if that feels right,
Or soften your gaze.
Take a deep breath in,
And slowly let it go.
With this breath,
Greet yourself,
Greet this day with kindness.
Allow your body to settle.
Notice how you feel in this moment.
There's no need to change anything,
Just acknowledge whatever is present without judgment.
Bring one hand to rest on your heart.
Feel the gentle rhythm here.
Remember this heart that carried you through the night to the morning,
Into this brand new morning.
Take a moment to appreciate this miracle,
Your body,
Breathing,
Alive,
Present.
Silently whisper,
I am thankful.
As you rest here,
Notice your openness to this moment.
Your willingness to receive,
To be receptive to whatever this day might bring.
Now think of something or someone who brings light to your life.
See that image,
Visualize it.
Acknowledge the gift that that thing or person is to you.
Silently whisper,
I am thankful.
Embrace this feeling of gratitude.
Let it fill your chest,
Let it fill your whole body.
Notice how it feels to be thankful,
To be open,
To be ready.
As you prepare to step into your day,
As best you can,
Greet whatever comes with responsiveness,
With a gentle heart.
Welcome both the joys and the challenges,
Knowing that you have everything you need within you.
Take one more deep breath,
Breathing in,
Receive this moment fully.
Breathing out,
Embrace the day ahead.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Wiggle your fingers,
Your toes.
Carry this openness,
This gratitude,
This readiness with you.
