Welcome back to another resilience boost in anxious times.

Today's resilience boost meditation will be on the topic of letting go.

So I know that you've let go of whatever you had to do to give yourself over to this meditation.

And I promise you that just taking three to five minutes of time to do this letting go will help you return to your life with a sense of renewal and replenishment.

And that is what it means to nourish our own resilience.

So let's go ahead and get started finding your comfortable position,

Whether you're sitting,

Lying down,

Walking,

Standing,

Wherever you are.

And if you're in a place where you can let your eyes close,

You might invite a gentle closing of the eyes just to let yourself let go of any visual distractions.

And then just beginning to tune into the feeling of this living breathing body just breathing in and out.

Feeling the sensations of the breath,

See if you can feel the breath in your body,

Noticing the expansion of the ribs or the belly on the inhale.

And the letting go on the exhale.

Each breath is a letting go,

A taking in of new breath,

And then a letting go so that we can be more free to receive this next new breath.

And in a way,

Whatever we're holding on to in our lives,

In mind and body,

Whatever weighs us down or tightens us up,

Often stressors,

Some of which we cannot control,

But we can control the amount of real estate we give to those worries in our minds.

And if we are constantly in a state of worry,

We can burn out pretty quickly.

So in chronically stressful times it's important to nourish ourselves in part by learning to let go.

So,

This meditation offers a chance to let go of whatever is weighing you down just for a few breaths at a time,

Or even one breath at a time.

You might invite a letting go in your forehead of tension.

Sometimes letting go in our body can allow us to let go of whatever is the stress in our mind.

So just deliberately exhaling out,

Letting go of tension in the jaw.

Exhaling,

Softening the shoulders down away from the ears,

Just letting go.

You might do a gentle,

Few gentle neck rolls,

Noticing little pockets of tension in the neck or the shoulders.

What might it be like to just release,

Soften just a little bit with this new breath,

This new exhale?

So that we can arrive more fully into this next present moment,

This new breath,

This gift of time,

This gift of self-care,

Of nourishment,

Mind and body.

So letting your hand come to your heart,

Just as a way of connecting with yourself,

Feeling the warmth and just the connection in your heart space.

See if you can invite one more letting go as your hand lets go and drops back down to your lap or by your side.

What could you let go of in this moment?

Expectations,

Desires,

Something in relationships at home or at work,

Physical tension.

One more inhale,

Exhaling,

Inviting the letting go.

Thank you for joining us for another Resilience Boost.

We look forward to welcoming you back again in this space next week.

Goodbye,

Be well.
