Finding a comfortable seat here,
Maybe you take a moment to settle in.
Maybe you rock side to side,
Forward and back until you find that comfortable space of stillness.
On your next breath in,
Bringing your awareness to the breath,
Noticing the quality of the breath here.
Is the breath short or long,
Deep or shallow,
Without judgment?
Maybe seeing if you can lengthen the breath here by just a second or two,
And the exhale.
Good,
On your next breath in,
Bringing your awareness to the body,
Noticing any sensation in the body.
Maybe there's tightness or tension,
Bringing your awareness back to your intention for the meditation for today.
Back to that invitation,
Holding that here gently,
Noticing we're in front of a mountain.
There's a creek rolling at the bottom of the mountain.
Pass over each rock,
To tune in to all the sounds around you in this space.
All the colors in this space,
The color of glistening water over the rocks.
Or algae nearby,
Noticing if there's any smells in this space.
Feeling the sun on your face,
This calm and peaceful space.
On your next breath in,
Beginning to walk in this space,
Feeling each step,
Each moment your foot makes contact with the earth.
Stepping deeper and deeper into the space,
Noticing how the water feels.
Walking,
Walking,
Noticing how your body feels in this space.
Eventually coming to a clearing in the forest,
Where there's no trees.
The sun shines bright on your skin,
Taking a moment to sit on the earth here.
The thing that no longer serves you.
Knowing the earth can hold it all.
The earth can transform any energy into new life.
The feet on the earth standing up,
And begin to walk over to what looks like the oldest tree in the forest.
To take in this beautiful tree,
With all of its wisdom.
Watching the branches grow so tall into the sky,
That you almost lose sight of where it ends.
And as you approach this tree,
Noticing that there's a door on it.
Walking closer and closer to the door,
And falling straight through.
You begin to travel through time and space,
Or flying.
Maybe you pass by lots of colors,
Shapes,
Symbols.
Until eventually you land,
With both feet flat on the ground.
Taking a moment to notice what's beneath your feet here.
Is it grass?
Is it dirt?
Pebbles?
Allowing your gaze to take in all that's around you.
Are you inside or outside?
What color is the sky?
What sounds are here welcoming you?
How does the air smell?
As you're taking in this beautiful space,
You eventually notice that someone is here with you.
Taking a moment to notice what they're doing.
Maybe they're doing an activity.
Maybe they're off on their own.
Who are they,
Can you tell?
Knowing that there's some ancestor,
Spirit guide,
Or friend.
There's a loved one waiting.
Beginning to walk closer to this person.
Eventually capturing their attention.
They look up and warmly welcome you.
Maybe they smile or say something really specific.
Or maybe they wave you over and invite you to join.
And as you come closer and closer,
You can see the details of their face.
Where their smile lines their face.
They're happy to see you.
What do they want you to know?
Maybe your curiosity has grown.
Just taking a moment to ask them any questions that you would like.
Just noticing how they respond.
Once your conversation is complete,
Taking a moment to offer them a gesture of gratitude.
Maybe you give them a big hug.
Feeling the warmth of each other's hearts and arms.
Just thanking them so much for holding such a welcoming space.
And for offering such a lovely message.
Or maybe you find another space in this space.
To rest.
To soak up the goodness of this peaceful place.
Noticing how the body feels here.
Just taking a moment to relax.
Just feeling any tension around the forehead,
The scalp.
Just relaxing here.
Just feel it's awesome.
Maybe it travels up through those roots.
Noticing where your body makes contact with the earth beneath you.
Noticing how the body feels now.
To any messages you received.
Or maybe just back to that intention.
That invitation.
Let's close out our practice today with two big breaths.
In through the nose and out through the mouth together.
Breathing in.
Good.
Allowing the breath to go back to it's natural rhythm.
Maybe you take some moments to wake up the hand.
Maybe you wiggle the toes or the feet.
If the legs have been crossed,
Maybe you try to stretch them.
I invite you through this journey it's such an honor.
