Hello and welcome to this guided visualization meditation.
In this meditation we will be using visualization techniques to help relax mind and body to ease any stress you may be experiencing.
To begin find a comfortable position where you can relax but remain alert enough not to fall asleep.
Now close your eyes or soften your gaze downwards on the floor a few feet in front of you.
Rest your hands on your lap or at your sides.
Take a few moments here to notice the sensations in your body and wherever possible soften and release any obvious areas of physical tension.
Feel the sensations in your body in this moment and as you breathe allow your body to completely and fully relax.
Allow stress to flow out of you with each breath.
Inhale calm and exhale stress.
Simply relaxing in the comfortable space that surrounds you.
Relax your brow,
Relaxing your mouth,
Your jaw,
Relaxing the eyes.
Once you feel relaxed and centered start to bring yourself to one of your favorite peaceful beautiful places.
This could be a place you've been before like a favorite walking trail thick with trees or a vacation spot like an island getaway where the ocean waves and the sun on your skin warms and embraces you.
It could be a place built entirely in your imagination or a place you dream of going one day.
Wherever this special place is for you take some time now to imagine it as completely as you can all around you.
Once you have your special place in mind place yourself there.
Imagine that you are in this beautiful place.
Take a walk around and take in your surroundings.
Before you were looking at this scene as if it were a painting,
An objective outside observer.
Now you are in the painting,
You are living it.
Be there right now.
What do you see around you?
What in this scene is most relaxing to you?
Keep walking seeing all that you can see.
Begin engaging your senses.
What do you smell in the air?
Now reach out and touch something that calls to you.
How does it feel?
You are living in this place.
You can feel the ground beneath you,
The air on your skin.
How does it feel?
Take a moment to listen.
What sounds do you hear?
Whatever you hear take a moment now to enjoy listening to it.
You can stay here as long as you want enjoying this moment of relaxation that you have taken for yourself.
Feel free to walk around in this special place as long as you want.
It is yours.
Remember that this special place is always here for you.
You can come back to it whenever you wish.
You will not lose it.
It is always with you.
The relaxation that you feel in this moment is yours to call upon anytime you wish.
When you are ready slowly let the scene become blurry and dissipate back into your mind.
Allow yourself to slowly come back to the comfortable place before you imagined your special space.
When you are ready slowly open your eyes or lift your gaze and come back to the present moment.
Note how relaxed you feel right now and if the stress you are experiencing has softened or eased.
Set an intention to bring this calm and relaxing feeling with you throughout the rest of your day.
