Let The Waves Rise

While camping on the shores of Lake Michigan and practicing mindfulness, I was reminded of a spiritual teaching from Thich Nhat Hanh which says that we are both waves and water, helping us see our deep interconnection with all beings and overcome fear. As I collaborated with my band, the composition became even more of a meditative musical expression, embodying the energies of both waves and water in its structure, rhythm, and timbre. Since its release as part of my 2025 album, listeners tell me that this song helps them feel more centered and grounded. “Let the waves rise, let the waves fall, help me remember I’m part of it all. Not only the waves but the whole sea, help me remember I’m already free.”
