Winter Wonder Sleep | Cosy Meditation To Fall Asleep Fast
by Paola Pisu
At this time of the year, winter, you often long to lie in your bed for hours and sleep soundly. This guided sleep meditation will guide you to do just that. Delicious winter images will pass by, as well as childhood memories of the first snowflakes you ever saw. There is also a focus on the fact that winter is a period of peace. A season needed to recharge to be ready for spring. Each season has its function. Winter is ideally a period for contemplation and reflection leading to transformation that becomes visible when spring arrives. I wish you wonderful winter dreams full of a fantastic future perspective. And as always - sleep well - goodnight. Paola Royalty-free music by Chris Collins

Never listen to recordings like these while driving or using machinery,
Only listen in a safe environment.
Do you recognize this?
That during the winter months you find yourself like a kind of bear hibernating under the blankets and spend countless hours resting during the time of year when it is pitch black outside.
Those moments in the year when the darkness takes up much space and you,
More or less,
Quietly wait until spring slowly and surely pushes this phenomenon away to gradually make way for more light every day,
Through which you finally awaken from your wonderful winter sleep.
But now,
In these months of the year,
You have and feel an intense longing for nights that are filled with sleep,
With sweet dreams and wonderful heartwarming scenes on which you can enjoy and drift away.
Drifting away to the realm of the sleepy and,
On the way there,
Being carried away past beautiful,
Magical winter images,
While in the meantime lying here safe,
Warm and comfortable.
Hello dear listener,
My name is Paola Pizzu and I would like to take you into this guided fantasy where you,
Before you know and are aware of it,
Slip into sleep and dream away blissfully.
Before we start,
Please check if you are comfortable enough and take the space you need to shift or rearrange if that makes you more at ease.
And how pleasurable it is to sink into your own safe,
Familiar,
Cozy bed and indulge yourself completely in this story's passing scenes.
All you have to do is surrender to the story,
The words,
The music,
The sounds and the quiet murmur of your own breathing,
Its pleasant rhythm,
So that you become even more peaceful and calm than you already are and float away completely and utterly relaxed.
Relax,
Relax,
Let yourself sink further into your bed,
Into the soft surface on which you nestle cozily and for a few moments be aware of where your body makes contact with the soft,
Supportive surface on which you rest.
And I ask you now to quietly close your eyes and notice how peaceful that feels,
How peaceful this concluding gesture feels when you are aware of it,
As if you have officially ended the day,
Giving your body and your mind a signal,
A formal sign that the next phase has begun,
The phase of sleeping and resting.
And how comforting it is to lie here in your own protected,
Sheltered environment,
Blanketed and covered by your familiar bedding,
Breathing so peacefully and while lying here being aware where your body makes contact with the mattress.
Scan your body quietly and take all the space you need to notice if you feel any muscle tension or stiffness.
And consciously let your attention rest there for a moment,
There in that specific spot.
Then take a deeper breath and direct the breath toward that spot,
As if you are filling that spot,
Which is somewhat tense with air,
With your healing breath.
And when you are ready to breathe out,
The air leaving your body takes all the tension with it,
As you breathe out the air quietly through your mouth or nose,
Whatever feels most comfortable for you,
After which you return your attention to that specific place in your body and notice that it feels so much more relaxed and pleasant.
Scan with softness and attention your body for a second time and once more take all the space to notice which spot or spots need your special love and devotion.
It has your special attention,
You consciously pay loving attention to it.
And now take another deep breath in and transfer your breath to this spot in your body.
Right there,
Causing relaxation,
Here and now,
As if this place experiences relief and the relaxation multiplies as you breathe out.
Take a few moments to become aware of the sensations this loving gesture has just created in your body.
Remarkably,
There are many wonderful sensations to observe.
Feel,
For instance,
How the bed textile gently strokes your skin.
And imagine that it's a crisp,
Just washed,
Snow-white sheet that's just been ironed and is therefore mirror smooth,
Making it seem as if your skin were touched by soft silk.
And,
Involuntarily,
You see images before you of you as a child and the memory,
The sensation when,
For the first time in your life,
Snowflakes fell on your skin,
How enchanting that was.
And do you know that when you look closely at a snowflake,
You can see that it's made up of lots of ice crystals in the most wonderful shapes.
And sometimes the snow is thin and seems to be made up of fine tiny needles.
And sometimes the snow is thick and looks exactly as you would draw it or see in movies or pictures.
And if the ice crystals have lots of angles and edges,
Then they can hook together and you find the thick snowflakes you were hoping for.
That are made up of countless,
Countless little snowflakes that hold each other tightly and together form fantastic thick flakes.
And that is the perfect snow we are all longing to play in.
This snow,
A thick drift of snow that you can make snowmen out of and snowballs to throw at each other,
To which you pass or slide over with each other,
Pulled by each other or sliding down a hill.
So many snowflakes,
Together falling in all their beauty,
Falling down,
As you fall further and further,
Falling asleep.
Deeper and deeper down,
So relaxed and peaceful.
And before you see the image of the beauty of falling snowflakes,
Falling down with their hypnotic silhouettes.
As if shaped by a mystery,
Before they travel down,
Really relaxed,
All the way down to land there in an earthly atmosphere,
Their final destination.
A flake landed on your gloved childhood hand in all its incomparable light and beautiful form.
Making you think,
And you're almost certain,
That a snowflake always lands in the right place.
A gift that landed on your childhood hand,
It simply had to be that way.
Such a wonderful memory to fall asleep to,
Truly peaceful.
And you let yourself go,
Surrender,
Surrendering to sleep,
Sleep.
While you lie here,
Perfectly safe and sheltered napping.
Dosing peacefully,
Enjoying the image of serene winter landscape.
In which you are surrounded by shimmering snowflakes,
Falling gently and surely from the sky.
Each snowflake is unique,
Just like you.
And as you breathe in,
You feel how pure,
Clean air fills your lungs with freshness.
While lying down and taking all the space you need to rest and experiencing a deep,
Deep peace.
Notice how,
With each quiet inhalation,
You fill your lungs with pure,
Clean air and energy.
And also notice the promising freshness this healing breath brings you,
As you slowly and surely drift off into winter wonderland.
And you dream of the times you dreamed about,
Lying languidly on your back,
In the snow,
Morphing both your arms and legs,
So as to leave a figure of an angel in the snow-white and pristine carpet.
Or you dream of all those times you rode in the car,
And it snowed,
In the car,
At walking pace.
All of you in a line,
In a traffic jam.
All together,
A line of cars on the road.
All together on the highway,
As the snow melts down flakes on the windshield.
Countless flakes on the front,
Like white cotton wool balls,
Falling on the floor.
And they keep falling,
They keep falling down.
And from the radio,
Music sounds,
Or maybe you just prefer the silence of being with a snowfall.
You just prefer the silence of being with a snowfall.
All those cars,
Driving gently in a line.
And the comforting,
Sleep-inducing hum of the engine,
Dreaming that it's good that you're on your way back home.
So blissful to dream,
Wrapped in your duvet or blankets.
Nowhere as at home as in your own bed,
Where you can dream away freely.
Relax.
Relax more and more.
Everything is done.
It's behind you.
Relax.
Go on.
Relax.
It's good.
You're doing well.
Dream on.
Float to distant countries in your dream,
Where you land and arrive in a winter wonderland.
Where you walk around and are enveloped in warmth by a warm coat with matching scarf.
A wool cap that you've pulled deep over your ears.
And snow boots that warm your feet as you walk through the virgin fresh snow,
Where no man has gone before you.
And every step you take leaves a fine and distinct footprint in the snow.
The path you take is so clear,
Bright and prepared.
And you enjoy every step where the snow characteristically crouches under your feet.
And for a moment you are aware of the coolness of the snow.
Its flakes touching your face,
Your cheeks,
As if its coolness has awakened your senses.
And you perceive everything very clearly,
Through which your clear gaze focuses on the beauty of the winter wonderland that surrounds you.
Taking all space to focus your eyes on that splendor and taking in the fresh tingling temperature that fills your heart with joy.
And it's as if the snow is like a seemingly endless white blanket which covers the earth to let the soil rest.
For the earth to recover,
As you are now recovering,
Resting,
Recharging and rejuvenating.
As you walk among the trees you notice that Jack Frost has decorated their branches with the longest glistening icicles that hang proudly from the branches in the trees.
As if they were ripe fruits brought forth by this season.
And if you dwell for a moment on this symbol of elegance and of purity,
Let yourself be touched by this divine symbol of creative power.
Realizing that it's created from water,
It's just formed and changed in structure.
And these cones,
In their form,
Are but a fleeting phenomenon formed by drops of water that decided to freeze.
And then,
In their own time,
They melt by yet another entirely different temperature.
Thus forming a mirror of the certainty of change that goes on forever in everyone's life as a miracle of nature.
And how beautiful it is that this frozen water,
That one icicle that will soon slowly melt and gifts it drops to the earth,
Stands for a course,
A course of life,
In which it lets go and detaches itself from its frozen form.
And lets go in order to move forward.
And,
In all its fluidity,
Embraces a new beginning,
A new opportunity,
And thus always living,
Living forward from the present moment.
In that way,
In all its forms,
It's an example to you of how to find beauty in the mundane,
The ordinary,
The familiar.
It really hasn't pinned itself to anything.
And as you fell further and further away into a deep and restful sleep,
It's like stepping through a portal through which the power of healing dreams opens up to you as you keep on breathing quietly and rhythmically.
Breathe in to the rhythm that suits you best.
And that what the day brought you is long since melted like snow in the sun.
Because you want to sleep and switch to dreaming and relaxing,
Sinking deeper and deeper into relaxation and dreamland.
Walking through the serene snowy landscape,
A place of peace and calm,
Where this profound peace is part of you in serene silence and dignity.
And in this way you slowly descend a hill,
Descending further and further,
Gently down as your feet sink further in the pristine white snow as you make your way to a warden cabin.
Down there,
In the valley,
Here in this all snowy forest.
The cabin seems safely tucked away,
Almost hidden from view,
As if it had nestled permanently and out of the wind among the tall pine trees.
Quietly you descend further and with every step you take you feel more relaxed and perfectly sure that you will rest.
Deeply you will rest,
Something you so sorely need,
And you allow yourself to continue descending toward the valley.
With every step you take down the hill more deeply relaxed,
Further down,
All the way down,
Surrendering to sleep,
To dreams,
Descending further to the deepest point of rest.
That's right,
Let yourself go now.
Intensely relaxed and laid back,
So safe and secure,
Miles,
Miles away from the day ahead.
You've arrived now at the door of the cozy cabin and it's like someone saw you coming.
The door is already open,
Ajar.
And you're inside now.
It's nice and warm and inviting.
A fire spreads its flames in the fireplace which spreads a soft glow.
And in no time you've settled yourself on a white sofa and feel the warmth embracing you like a soft hug.
This is your dream spot,
Your sanctuary,
A place of peace and serene tranquility.
And you push the sofa just a little closer toward the fireplace to witness and gaze mesmerized at the flames.
Dancing and happily crackling and spreading their warm,
Warming glow.
Spreading through the room.
It's incredibly nice to sit here,
Just the right distance from the fire,
And relax and feel the soft warmth on your skin.
And as you stare into the flames,
The last worries and tensions digest,
As if the fire is signaling you to simply let it go.
As you drape your feet with a cozy blanket and you feel perfectly at ease,
The time has come when the flames,
Or is it winter itself,
Start telling their stories.
About the dark season needed for growth,
Because every season is needed without any doubt.
So too now,
The time when you are surrounded by the silence of the winter night,
In which the whole world stills.
And time seems to slow down,
Seems to stand still.
In which,
Guided by the rhythm of your natural breathing,
You renew the inner contact with yourself.
The connection with your inner self,
Where all wisdom resides.
Your inner self cradles you to a break,
A winter wonder-sleep,
A hibernation,
As so many animals and plants do,
Which it welcomes as a phase of rest and renewal.
And I ask you in this meditative moment to look inward,
To understand yourself better and survey your desires,
And think about where you want to dream yourself towards as you recharge here and replenish your energy as spring is slowly and surely arriving.
It's so lovely to dream in the warmth of the fire,
Which seems to whisper sweetly to you,
Relax,
It's good,
Let go,
Surrender to everything that should be.
And relax.
Just relax.
It's good and fine what you are doing.
For winter marks both an end and a new beginning.
A period to retreat to,
Far away,
Far away from all the hassle and bustle,
To focus only on yourself.
The next phase that belongs to you and this time of year.
As if a film is playing in the flames of the fireplace,
You see there the ups and downs of life and that which was so challenging for you.
You see the recurring memory of being created,
Sometimes somewhat unexpectedly,
By a brand new spring.
A new spring in which all sorts of things sprout anew with fresh life force.
And thus winter transforms into spring,
After the hardship and cold that season winter accepts as a given,
As a truth which it overcomes in silence.
And like a kind of subdued silent hero,
Winter lets its eye bath over all this,
Without skipping a single thing,
To then grow,
To re-emerge,
With fresh resilience and with fresh zest.
And thus overcoming itself to pass into spring.
And the flames in the hearth whisper,
Embrace the silence and dream on,
Dream on deliciously.
And remember that you stepped through a door into this comfortable cabin and thereby entered a space where your imagination is free to explore,
Completely free to create and in this space your way is cleared for you.
As is your imagination,
So you can shape the most enchanting and positive dreams.
Now let yourself go,
Merge into those dreams.
In that dream world full of images,
Sounds and sensations.
And as you lie here relaxed on this big cozy couch near the fireplace,
With a deep sense of peace and contentment,
Intimately connected to yourself and your inner wise resources,
You may quietly explore your world of endless possibilities.
Move along to the cycles of the seasons and the dancing of the flames.
While outside,
The landscape is covered in pristine white snow,
So many ice crystals piled up like a pure white carpet.
And it is as if this portrays a clean slate,
With unprecedented,
Untapped potential.
A promise for the future when the days lengthen,
When it's still dark outside for so many hours every day,
And where flames,
Candles and people surface company in cozy light-filled atmospheres during gatherings that shine with togetherness and interconnectedness,
Finding each other and wonder at the rhythm of the earth and sweet dreams of a special winter dreamscape.
It's so extraordinary to stare into the flames while enjoying the pleasant temperature,
Making you grow lamer,
Drowsier and increasingly lazy.
Deeply,
Deeply relaxed and laid back.
Ready,
Ever so ready to sleep.
Slipping away into a slumber,
Guided by the gentle crickle of the yellow-orange flames.
In gratitude,
You watch the licking of the flames,
And sometimes a tiny bit of smoke rises slowly upwards.
Occasionally something sniffs just a little harder,
And you sometimes discern a bright spark that makes you think.
Think of a star that wants to shine in the firmament of heaven.
And you yourself are also a beautiful,
Special star.
And as you breathe in and your belly rises,
So many positive emotions bubble up,
As if they converge around your heart,
And completely spontaneously you embrace these feelings of happiness,
Gratitude and love,
That are part of your most beautiful dreams.
And these are enhanced by the pristine winter snow carpet beyond,
Which guards the fertile ground,
Pleasant knowing that accompanies you to the realm of sleep.
Your calmed mind surrenders itself to the soothing waves of the dream realm to winter wonder-sleep.
There,
Where calm dwells,
You are absorbed in the soft,
Pure embrace of serene calm.
The realm where beautiful dreams are born.
Go on,
Travel to the world of your dreams,
Whisper the Flames.
And you might think of hours far ahead of this moment,
That you have the power and talent to shape all your desires.
Like a painter painting colourful,
Wistful dreams on a virgin white canvas.
Wistful dreams consisting of sheer joy,
Inspiration and love for this life.
The flames whisper once more,
And you can barely hear it,
Because you're tired and in fact almost asleep already.
And in your half-sleep you just catch,
That all your dreams reflect the intentions you've outlined for the future.
The flames crackle on,
As you allow yourself from tranquility to embrace the beauty of winter and all the facets it displays.
And the flames wish that all your dreams while sleeping are filled with peaceful,
Snowy landscapes.
With a delightful enjoyment in front of the fireplace and the joy of winter wonder-sleep.
Deliciously wrapped in your cosy blanket.
Totally relaxed,
Laid back.
Reassured and at ease.
Winter wonder-sleep lifts you up and takes you through all your dreams,
While you drift further and further into a restful sleep.
To winter wonder-sleep in which dreams lead you past the magic of a white winter.
Sleep fully relaxed.
Sleep deeply.
Sleep very relaxed.
Sleep deeply.
Sleep very relaxed.
Sleep peacefully and contentedly.
Let yourself be led completely relaxed to winter wonder-sleep.
