Welcome to this guided sleep meditation,
Created especially for you by Paola Pizzu.
I warmly invite you to release the day that has passed,
And surrender yourself to the solid softness upon which you have settled to rest,
As if you are arriving there,
Landing,
Truly arriving at the place where wakefulness finally transitions into a much-needed night's rest.
And the memory of how to do this resides within you.
That part of you,
Your inner wisdom,
Knows so well how to guide you into blending with dreams,
How to let wakefulness fade,
So that you naturally transition into that space between wakefulness and slumber,
Gentle slumber,
Which in a single moment effortlessly and naturally deepens into a profound,
Healing and rejuvenating sleep.
And I wonder in what way you will allow yourself to set aside all the busyness of the day,
So that you can rest,
Recharge and restore yourself,
Through a deep,
Healing night's sleep,
Waiting for you,
Welcoming you with open arms to cradle and whisper to you,
That it's truly possible to drift into a land of nowhere,
A place where all thoughts have vanished,
Making way for drifting into dreams,
Floating in fantasies and beautiful imagery,
While your body and mind naturally recover and recharge,
Basking in the peace,
Stillness and tranquility to which you have surrendered yourself.
As if you have erased the day with a soft eraser,
Or as you perhaps and most likely once did with a chalkboard duster,
Wiping away all the numbers and letters that had been written in chalk on the school board.
And now I ask you to imagine yourself standing before such an old-fashioned blackboard,
Or perhaps a green one,
Completely covered in flowing letters,
Symbolizing the lingering thoughts of the day still drifting in your mind.
And you are holding the duster in your left hand or perhaps your right,
Whichever feels most natural to you,
And you begin to move it slowly,
Gently across the board,
Erasing all the letters,
All the remnants of the day,
Sweeping them away until everything fades from your mind,
Growing fainter and fainter,
Wiped away,
Fading,
Vanished,
And naturally you sink deeper into rest,
While you breathe calmly in,
And as you lie here,
Embraced by a serene atmosphere,
You notice how your body relaxes more and more,
How your breath moves your body gently up and down,
Like the lingering swell of a calm,
Tranquil sea.
And while you feel relaxation deepening,
You may imagine a young,
Warm kitten curling up beside you,
Feel how its small,
Warm body nestles against you,
Its velvety soft fur warm and comforting against your skin,
The subtle cadence of its breathing,
Slow,
Steady,
Calm,
Rhythmic,
A tangible,
Touchable reminder of deep,
Peaceful rest,
And then she begins to purr,
A deep,
Reassuring humming sound,
Sleep-inducing,
Familiar and soothing.
You probably recognize this sound,
This gentle,
Sonorous vibration,
A sound that accompanies surrender and relaxation in trust.
Or perhaps you notice,
Now that your ear picks up the purring,
How it moves through you like a pleasant,
Light vibration,
As if that soft purring connects with your own breathing,
With your own surrender,
With a deepening release within you.
Every subtle vibration of the sound,
The refined frequency of the purr draws you further away,
Deeper,
Ever calmer.
As if the sound speaks directly to your subconscious,
Inviting you to let go,
To sink deeper into soothing comfort.
Perhaps you can imagine how the little cat stretches,
Completely relaxed,
Utterly at ease.
How she surrenders again and again,
Without any sense of urgency,
Tension entirely absent,
Nothing but rest.
And just like the kitten,
You too can surrender more and more to that peaceful feeling.
You notice how your thoughts have now grown still,
How your body feels heavier and heavier,
As if,
Just like the small creature,
You feel safe and secure in this warmth,
In this bliss.
And with each purring sound,
With every soft vibration,
You feel yourself sinking deeper,
Further,
Wonderfully calm and relaxed.
Perhaps you even notice that the purring lulls you further into drowsiness,
Enveloping you,
Carrying you.
And each time you hear that gentle,
Deep murmur,
You feel yourself drowning.
Drifting away a little more,
As if you are floating in a space of total relaxation,
Carried by the soothing cadence.
And the deeper you go,
The more pleasant this feeling becomes.
As if you are dissolving completely into this elongated,
Tranquil moment,
Where nothing else matters anymore,
Only this intensely comforting calm,
Only this wonderful,
All-encompassing feeling of safety.
Let yourself be carried further,
Let yourself be held by this purring sound,
By this warm,
Inviting,
Beckoning presence.
Deeper,
Deeper,
Further,
Sleeping,
Wonderfully calm,
Peaceful.
And as you lie here,
Resting,
You feel your body experiencing ever more ease,
Your breathing calm and composed,
Each breath spontaneous and freer,
Liberating.
With every exhalation,
You let go even further.
As you breathe in calmly,
And breathe out,
A cat appears before your mind's eye.
And this is no ordinary cat.
It's a being made of pure tranquility,
A true Zen master,
A silent guide and compass in the art of genuine and complete relaxation.
See how she settles herself effortlessly somewhere in the space,
As if she instinctively knows how to offer herself the utmost comfort,
As if she exists entirely in the here and now.
Without haste,
Without worry.
Her velvety soft fur radiates warmth and security.
And then,
Once again,
You become aware of that gentle,
Deep,
Rhythmic purring.
A sound that extends beyond hearing alone.
It's a subtle vibration that you can feel,
A deeply soothing,
Healing sound.
She purrs because she's in perfect harmony with herself.
Utterly content.
Her entire being hums naturally with this calm,
Deep frequency.
A sound that whispers All is well.
All is peaceful.
All is exactly as it should be.
Feel how you can allow yourself to be carried away by it.
How that cozy purring feels your body,
As if it flows through you like a subtle,
Sleep-inducing,
Silent,
Yet powerful force.
A gentle frequency.
A healing wave of sound.
Loosening any tension.
Softening your muscles.
Slowing down your thoughts.
Making them fade away.
And then,
You see how the cat stretches with elegant ease.
It seems like a lazy movement,
Yet it's full of grace.
An endless stretch and elongation without hurry,
Without any effort or strain.
It happens naturally,
Without thought,
Guided by an internal impulse.
And in that moment,
You understand this is what deep relaxation looks like.
No effort.
No pressure.
Only pure surrender to what is.
Perhaps you feel the invitation to do the same.
To simply lie here.
To just be.
To,
Like this zen master on four paws,
Sink and drift away into a state of complete relaxation with nothing to do,
Nowhere to go.
The cat keeps her eyes mostly closed,
Occasionally peeking through one or two small slits as she breathes in a natural,
Calm rhythm.
And you,
As her student in relaxation,
Notice how your own breathing effortlessly adjusts.
Breathing in and out,
More or less in sync with hers.
Slower.
Calmer.
Flowing.
As if you are arriving,
Settling into the deepest possible rest carried by the steady,
Gentle purring.
Each slow vibration of this purring sound radiates tranquility,
Allowing you to realize,
In the deepest sense,
That you are exactly where you need to be.
That there's nothing to worry about,
Nothing to hold on to.
Only this,
This present moment.
Only this profound,
Soothing silence and the untroubled,
Sonorous hum of the sleeping cats.
And while you sink further into relaxation,
You recognize that cats possess something we humans sometimes forget.
The art of being fully present.
Of resting without guilt,
Shame or haste.
Of sleeping when it's time to sleep.
Playing when it's time to play.
And above all,
Of cherishing stillness in the sunlight or in some cozy hidden place.
She shows you how.
It's this Zen Master before you.
A quiet example,
Encouraging you without words.
And you let go even further,
Drifting away,
Further and further.
The velvety softness of the kitten beside you the soothing purring carrying you deeper and deeper.
An inner peace flowing through you like a warm,
Healing glow.
And deep inside you know this relaxation is always here.
Always accessible.
That,
Like the cat,
You too have a place within yourself to which you can always return.
You can always return to this deep tranquility,
This gentle purring,
This timeless peace.
Let yourself drift even further carried by the soothing rhythm further deeper calmer in complete harmony as if you are a cat yourself a true Zen Master of life.
While you take in the drowsy,
Sonorous sound of purring you may simply rest in this safe,
Timeless space doing absolutely nothing just floating in drowsiness listening to my voice.
For in this moment truly nothing is required nothing and no one expects anything from you.
And as you follow the sound and tone of my voice you will naturally find and continue to find your own way to deeply relax.
And I encourage you to surrender even further to accept the invitation to sink more and more into this restful state to truly unwind.
For this is your time,
Your space where your comfort is the only thing that matters where you are free to adjust your position whenever you need to effortlessly just as you do naturally in sleep throughout the night.
Your body instinctively finds the most comfortable position shifting to your other side rolling onto your back or moving your arms or legs as needed.
So always feel free to lie in whatever way suits you best at any moment as you continue listening to these sounds comfortably resting.
And for a moment you may become aware of other sounds around you in the room or perhaps beyond or maybe you notice the soft rhythm of your own breath.
Whatever you hear you can decide that each sound only helps you drift even further into sleep.
You can listen to them,
Acknowledge them and then effortlessly let them go letting them drift away.
And your attention returns completely to yourself to the calmness and comfort unfolding within you to the relaxation unravelling effortlessly inside you like a ball of wool unwinding your body softens into deep relaxation.
And your mind becomes still completely still in this place you are safe.
All around you there's only safety your own space your own quiet knowing that this is your space a space for you to relax to grow familiar with comfort familiar with calm and to allow yourself to simply drift away.
All around you there is silence and comfort safety and stillness and an abundance of space for you to simply be to enjoy to feel completely at ease to release all worries to leave them outside the door and everything you were doing before you began listening to these words it can all wait because you are far more important you are precious far more valuable than anything you were doing and now you are beginning to realise this you are beginning to recognise just how precious you truly are as you continue listening to these soothing sounds and tones take two slightly deeper breaths allowing each exhale to bring you just a little more relaxation and then breathe in calmness and gently bring your awareness to your body to the way it rests here to the comfort of how you've settled yourself take a few moments to scan your body for any lingering traces of tension or discomfort no matter how small breathe into those areas with each inhale allowing them to soften and dissolve simply letting go and with the next exhale feel them leave your body completely imagine those sensations simply fading away leaving behind only ease only comfort bathe in this feeling for a few moments and then gently shift your awareness back to the positive reassuring message in my words to the encouragement they bring you and now I ask you to scan your body once more from the top of your head all the way down to the soles of your feet and any tension,
Tightness or discomfort no matter how big or small as you come across it during this scan allow it to gently dissolve in real time slowly fading until it completely melts away a gradual,
Steady process of guaranteed release dissolving like a wisp of smoke carried away by the gentlest breeze dissolving like a snowflake melting in the warmth of your hand dissolving like the morning mist of a quiet lake as the sun begins to rise fading,
Softly fading like an echo in a distant valley fading until it's gone because all that matters now is resting recovering,
Drifting into sleep while you simply listen to the soothing meditative sounds the calming,
Sleep-inducing music and the cat's gentle purring and now scan your body once more but this time let your focus shift to the most relaxed and restful part of you the stillest,
Quietest part of you as you gently scan from the top of your head down to the tips of your toes finding that one point that one muscle or joint that in this moment feels the most at peace and let that deep sense of relaxation gently spread throughout the rest of your body like the soft ripples across a still pond when something touches the water's surface let it ripple outward this gentle,
Effortless wave of calm let it softly touch every part of you easily,
Naturally,
Without effort without trying to do anything at all your whole body unwinding fully at ease and then once more you become aware of the peaceful,
Sleep-inducing music and the sweet,
Rhythmic purring of the cat bring your attention back to your body and notice the comfort notice the natural rhythm of your breath so effortless,
So soothing unfolding entirely on its own you never asked your breath to be this calm it simply became this way all by itself and the rest of your body the rest of your being can and will follow this gentle,
Peaceful pattern of letting go naturally effortlessly in a way that feels warm and welcoming and as your body relaxes even further you may notice your thoughts begin to slow your mind can continue to slow down as you grow more familiar with and more trusting of this steady,
Welcoming release and as your body unwinds it encourages your mind to follow effortlessly to simply be nothing more nothing less while the sound of my voice remains somewhere in the distance the words flowing together forming into soft,
Shapeless sentences as you drift further into sleep letting your body and mind continue to relax in their own way in their own time just letting go surrendering and remember deep within that the more often you do this the easier it will become the more familiar this sense of comfort will feel in every part of your being your body and mind will recognize this calm and your conscious and subconscious mind recognize it too this deeply rooted sense of comfort has such a profoundly positive effect on yourself and also on your emotions because as your body and mind settle your emotions follow effortlessly in their wake gently unwinding now that you've stepped back from them allowing yourself to rest and restore the day has long faded behind you and you are sinking deeper into the stillness of the night into the restful space where dreams wait patiently for you while you lie here cozy unburdened and completely at ease your eyes are closed soft sleeping eyes you breathe in feeling the air gently fill your body and while you exhale you release anything that's no longer needed allowing yourself to sink even further into this blissful relaxed state today had its moments it was full of them and perhaps there were things that felt big heavier than usual filling you with emotions but here now in this quiet space you can take a step back you have already stepped back and created distance as if you are a bird rising into the air and you can imagine that you have wings lifting off at your own pace soaring higher and higher until you see the landscape of the day far below you and the things that once felt overwhelming grow smaller less significant fading into the vastness around them and it's an experience much like standing on a hilltop looking back at the road you've travelled from this distance what once seemed so close becomes clear becomes manageable allowing you to set it down to place it at a distance where it no longer holds power over you you can tug it away like placing something in a drawer and sliding it shut putting it neatly in its place out of sight making room to breathe more freely filling that space with fresh air because there is literally more space now that you've cleared it away so much simply drifts away from you as puzzle pieces fall effortlessly into place within the vast and intricate puzzle of life a puzzle of far more than a thousand pieces and today you may have been holding just one small piece turning it in your hands searching for where it belonged perhaps for a while it felt like the most important piece of all as if this one small piece somehow defined everything but now with this new found distance you can see the whole picture the entire puzzle and this one little piece is just that a small part of something much greater and whether you let it go or place it in the drawer it doesn't really matter because it will find its place on its own or you will find it a place somewhere and life will simply move forward and now for a moment you can feel how soothing this is how freeing it is to release what once felt stuck tension you had unknowingly held in your mind or in your body now dissolves spontaneously dissolves just as mist vanishes when the sun rises over the horizon sinking deeply into relaxation drifting swaying gently into sleep carried by the soft rhythmic purring of the sleeping cat in the background like a masterful artist in the art of resting you have fully surrendered to the liminal space of slumber a state that naturally gives way to deep boundless sleep she shows you how this cat this zen master a silent example wordlessly encouraging you to let go for everything is perfect in place and so you can drift even further further and further into endless spaces where thoughts dissolve where worries dissipate where you know deep down that you are not your thoughts nor your concerns nor a lone misplaced puzzle piece but instead you are the vast open space in which everything arises and effortlessly fades away making room for whatever comes next for you are like the sky where clouds float by you are the ocean where waves rise and fall you are the stillness in which life moves where puzzle pieces naturally settle into place exactly where they belong and so you let go even more drifting further and further surrendering the velvety softness of the cat beside you the soothing purr that carries you deeper an inner peace flowing through you like a warm healing light and deep within you you know this relaxation is always here always available that just like the cat you always have a place within yourself to return to to return to this deep calm this gentle purring this timeless peace let yourself be carried even further held by the rhythm of stillness further deeper more peacefully in complete harmony as if you are a cat a true Zen master of life sleeping when sleep calls knowing with every part of your being that you may sleep that you can sleep the blissful surrender to rest to healing to renewal to drifting to dreaming to softly gently falling asleep
