Hey everyone,
And welcome to the Reclaim Your Worth podcast.
I'm your host,
Patricia Pisano,
And this week's episode is all about becoming the hero of your own life story.
So what does it mean to be the hero of your own life story?
Many of us fall victims to our own circumstances.
We wish,
We hope,
And we dream that one day a magnificent knight in shining armour will come along and make everything better for us.
I know I certainly did.
I grew up dreaming of a fairytale romance,
Wishing for a pretty woman type scenario,
A hero to come and save me from the mess that I found myself in.
But the school of hard knocks really taught me that you can't rely on other people to save you,
And really,
The world doesn't owe you anything.
Like most of you,
I've been through my own share of hell and back,
But I still managed to smile.
One of the most difficult choices and hardest decisions I ever had to make was leaving a toxic,
Abusive relationship when I had nowhere to go and no family around to support me.
But I found the courage and the strength within to love myself just enough to leave.
And I want you to know that this strength really exists in all of us.
And just know that the universe or life will never give you more than you can handle.
For me,
Being your own hero starts to take form from the moment that you struggle to get through any pain,
Any disappointments,
Anger,
Anxiety,
Stress.
And it happens day by day,
Hour by hour,
Minute by minute.
Whether you realise it or not,
The moment that you allow yourself to actually feel the pain and allow these emotions to surface,
And the moment you accept life's challenges,
You're actually becoming your own hero.
You know,
Let's be real here.
Life isn't always going to run the way you'd like it to.
But remember that hidden behind and beneath every hardship you encounter is a great lesson and a blessing,
Which sort of serves your own personal and spiritual evolution.
I truly believe that.
You know,
A lesson wrapped as a gift,
Presented to you to make you a better version of yourself.
Remember,
No wise person was ever born out of comfort.
The universe,
As I like to call it,
Will continue to provide you with lesson after lesson after lesson.
And just when you think you're done learning,
Another one gets thrown your way,
Just like that.
And more often than not,
You know,
These lessons are never to do with anyone else or anything outside of yourself.
These are lessons that require you to dig deep within the core of your own being and to realise that,
You know,
They're always about the relationship you're choosing to have with yourself.
And once you realise this,
You really do become free and empowered at the same time in the understanding and in the knowledge that each experience you have is a direct reflection of how you're treating yourself.
So being your hero or being your own hero,
It really isn't easy.
What is easy is making excuses and blaming others for your problems.
But this just means that you're giving away your power and it makes you weaker.
Being your own hero,
It really does require consistent action and never giving up on yourself.
It means keeping hold of your own truth,
Keeping hold of your own power by always taking full responsibility and being fully accountable over the quality of your life.
The only hero you'll ever need already exists within you,
I promise you.
