Welcome to the Project Me Podcast,
Episode 1.
What are we waiting for?
Everything we need is already here.
I'm Teresa Hubbard and I appreciate you being here.
So what is Project Me?
To answer this question,
I'd like to share that I'm someone who has spent a good deal of my life turning over rocks,
Looking for anything I could find to fill my unmet desires and provide fulfillment and meaning.
Happiness always came and went tied to my perception of what was going right and what was going wrong.
Yet I can now say that it was not anything outside of myself that made any difference.
Whether it was the next degree,
Promotion,
Relationship,
Vacation,
Book,
Hobby,
All those these things always felt good.
They eventually were replaced by the next in a series of similar things.
I finally reached a point where I could no longer tolerate that nagging feeling that something was missing.
Finally,
In complete frustration,
I just stopped and I started asking myself some hard questions.
Why am I here?
Who am I?
What motivates me?
After taking my attention off of all the things I was doing and began looking inside,
An unfiltered part of me began to speak.
I realized that much of my life was built around the expectations of others.
Expectations I had accepted as normal for how I was supposed to live my life.
As I leaned into this newfound voice,
I began to experiment.
I began making choices based on my own visions,
My own strengths,
And my own desires,
Regardless of what I'd always been taught was the right thing to do.
To my great surprise,
As I began following this inner voice,
Creating my life from the inside out,
I lost that sense of effort while experiencing more of what I truly desired.
The outcome was more fulfillment in all areas of my life.
Plus,
It seemed I had more time for the things that mattered most to me.
So in a nutshell,
So to speak,
Project Me is for those of us with a yearning.
That yearning is different for each of us.
For some,
Like me,
It may feel like something is missing.
For others,
It may be more of a tangible sort of yearning,
Such as a new job or relationship.
For discussion purposes here,
I'm going to refer to it as a yearning for something more.
Maybe it's more purpose,
More connection,
More love,
More peace,
More money,
A more satisfying life.
The possibilities are endless,
Really.
And what I'm going to say next will either spark your curiosity or have you searching for the off button.
So here it is.
We are each solely responsible for our individual more.
Project Me is not about positive affirmations or positive thinking,
Which are both great tools,
By the way.
Instead,
Project Me is about the willingness to lift the proverbial hood on ourselves and take an honest and fresh look at where we are,
How we got here,
And what we're willing to do to get to our more.
Regardless of what we achieve in the world,
Our yearning for more will remain with us until we consistently turn our focus from out there to in here.
It's up to us.
We are infinitely powerful creative creatures,
Yet we don't remember this about ourselves.
Does this statement ring true for you?
If any part of you,
Even the slightest tiny nudge within yourself,
Resonates with that statement,
Project Me is for you.
To be clear,
I'm not implying that things completely outside our control don't affect our lives.
Families,
Economic environments,
Time in history,
Even the country into which we were born are just a few examples.
Our history books are filled with stories of inequity.
So the question is,
What causes some of us,
With seemingly unfair,
Even unbearable life circumstances,
To live happy and fulfilled lives,
While others of us,
With what appears to be everything life has to offer,
Live in misery and chaos?
That power within,
That infinite potential,
Is what Project Me is all about.
Project Me is not an event or a class or a curriculum.
It's a way of life.
It puts us into the driver's seat of our lives,
Empowering us from a place of awareness,
Instead of reaction,
Or even worse,
Autopilot living.
Ugh.
On this podcast,
I'll share stories of how I apply Project Me in my daily life.
As a student of A Course in Miracles,
I'll be exploring spirituality,
Emotions,
Human nature,
And everything in between.
You'll hear my challenges and mistakes,
Along with my aha moments and realizations.
And it's important to understand that we can never get it wrong,
And it's never complete.
We are ever-expanding,
Infinite beings.
So what are we waiting for?
We have everything we need already inside of us.
So,
Now that you hopefully have a feel for what Project Me is,
I hope you'll tune in again.
Until then,
May you remain curious and follow that yearning within.
That will lead you back to where your power lies.
