This meditation is here to help you soften into sleep by balancing both sides of your energy.
Your yin and your yang.
Your feminine and your masculine.
So your whole system can come back into harmony for rest.
Find a comfortable position in bed,
Lying down,
Letting your body sink fully into the support beneath you.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And a long,
Gentle exhale through your mouth.
One more time,
Inhaling deeply,
And exhaling completely.
Let your breath return to an easy,
Natural rhythm.
Begin by noticing the left side of your body,
The yin,
The feminine,
The receptive.
Feel your left shoulder,
Left arm,
Left hip,
Left leg.
Let this entire side soften and melt.
Now shift your awareness to the right side,
The yang,
The masculine,
The active.
Feel your right shoulder,
Right arm,
Right hip,
Right leg.
Allow this side to soften too,
Letting go of the push,
The doing,
The tension.
Now imagine breathing in through the left side of your body,
And exhaling through the right,
A gentle wave moving across you.
Switch,
Inhale through the right,
And exhale through the left,
Feeling both sides of you beginning to meet in the middle,
Balancing effortlessly.
Now imagine a small,
Glowing light in the center of your chest.
Warm,
Soft,
And steady.
With every inhale,
Your feminine,
Your yin energy flows towards that light.
With every exhale,
Your masculine,
Your yang energy flows towards it too.
Both energies meeting at your heart,
Blending,
Harmonizing.
Not one stronger than the other,
Just beautifully balanced.
Feeling the calm of yin,
Feeling the stability of yang,
Feeling them weaving together,
Creating peace in your whole system.
Let this harmony ripple down your spine,
Into your belly,
Your hips,
Your legs,
Your feet.
Let it move up through your chest,
Your throat,
Your face,
Your mind.
You are balanced,
You are safe,
You are ready to rest.
Take one last breath in,
And a soft,
Effortless exhale out.
