Bishal is a native Nepalese that has lived in Singapore for many years. His journey into sound healing began when a friend asked him to bring back some singing bowls from his hometown in Nepal. He had never heard about singing bowls before then. The friend liked the quality of the bowls and so he began selling bowls ever since. Over the past few years he attended classes in Nepal from his teacher, Shree Shahi, to learn more about the bowls. For this recording, Bishal placed instruments around the mic in a circle. He played with the stereo field by walking around with bowls, while striking stationary ones. His exploration created a slew of mixed emotions from the different sounds and combinations he made. He used different objects to strike the bowls like a metal object that created a bright, piercing sound that woke up my ears as he elevated the session to another level.
