After I recorded Mingwei I Grabbed it to Sari Miyata in her wonderful space at Mont Kiara. Originally from Japan, not far from Kagoshima, where I was just last year, she has been living in Malaysia for many years with her husband. She regularly holds sessions in corporate settings and holds her private sessions in this space which was still quiet. She uses numerology to fine tune her sound baths to focus on the client's specific healing needs. In the first session, through the chatter of the rain stick Sari emerges with blissful, hopeful melodies. Sari's style is slow and pure. Her steady hands guide baton caresses between the bowls in moving sequences. The bowls, perfectly balanced, immerses me with sound/life/warmth/emotion/love/light the only way to keep from being overwhelmed is to breath deeper hoping every breath can displace enough to keep from drowning, and then the strange urge to repeat just to test how far the scale can tip.
