Day Fifteen of Lent. This meditation is inspired by Psalm 119:105. During this meditation, and for the second & third weeks of this series we meditate upon the Call to Endurance. Where do we draw strength from, when we feel weak? How can we learn to have grace for ourselves in those moments? Let this meditation take you deeper in communion with God. And let this series be an edifying part of your Lent practice.

Your word is a lamp unto my feet,

And a light unto my path.

Hey friends,

Happy 17th day of Lent.

Today's meditation is inspired by Psalm 119 verse 105,

And is a transition from our Voice of God section of the series into the Call to Endurance section.

To begin,

I invite you to close your eyes,

Relax your body,

And quiet your mind.

Be still,

Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,

Especially toward yourself,

And embrace a spirit of peace and loving-kindness.

Yahweh,

Your word is a lamp unto my feet,

And a light unto my path.

Sometimes,

It can be overwhelming to focus on long-term goals.

This passage invites us to simply focus on the next step.

Imagine you are walking through the woods in the middle of the night,

And all you have to light your way is an oil lamp.

How far ahead can you see?

Probably just far enough for the next step,

Right?

I like to imagine this is what the author of this psalm had in mind.

This is the light the word provides.

This is the light the word the spirit provides.

Yahweh,

Your word is a lamp unto my feet,

And a light unto my path.

Oftentimes,

Instead of giving us a clear seven-year plan with strategic and ordered steps,

God just gives us the next step,

The next right step.

The spirit is a lamp unto my feet,

And a light unto my path.

Thank you for meditating with me today,

My friends.

May grace and peace,

The light and love of the Spirit be with you.

Really like this... that our path is illuminated for the next right step. I find this so true. Thank you

Thank you. I got the clear connection between the lamp's light and doing next right action as guided by God.🙏❤️
