The spiritual journey is not for the faint of heart.

There is a price you pay for doing the inner work and becoming self-aware.

Once you take responsibility for yourself and you start seeing beyond the programming,

You don't have the comfort of ignorance anymore.

You don't get to pretend that you don't see.

There is an invisible cost that almost no one talks about.

A lot of people talk about the spiritual journey as if once you become more conscious,

Everything just falls into place and life gets easy and clear.

It doesn't.

In many ways,

Life becomes more challenging.

You start seeing things you didn't see before,

Patterns you used to live out unconsciously,

On autopilot.

You notice when you get triggered,

When you are reacting,

When you are avoiding or making excuses.

You don't get to blame anyone for your circumstances or stay in that victim energy.

And that changes everything.

You know that you are part of what you are creating in your life.

You more often than not know the truth.

You don't have the comfort of reacting,

Avoiding,

Pulling away or hiding behind some old mask that doesn't serve you anymore.

And with self-awareness also comes a deeper awareness of others.

And that can be quite painful.

Because you see and understand someone else's struggles and it's not your place to step in or try to fix them.

You see their pain and unresolved issues and even though you know most of the time it's not personal,

It still hurts.

You also choose your words wisely.

You notice how you think twice before you speak.

How often you choose not to engage,

Not because you are afraid,

But because you know it's unnecessary.

When you are aware of yourself and your energy,

You long for deeper connection.

You step away from meaningless conversations and choose your inner peace instead.

And that's where it can get lonely.

Because what used to feel good doesn't satisfy you anymore and the new way of being takes time to fully integrate.

All of this is part of the journey.

It's part of growing.

But self-awareness is not a magic pill.

It doesn't erase your past or your patterns.

It makes you more conscious of them.

And that can make things harder because it's easy to judge yourself for not being better,

For not being further along,

Especially when you believe the illusion that once you are aware you will be free and happy forever.

But once you know,

You know.

You don't get to undo it.

And that can be heavy sometimes.

Because blaming would be so much easier.

Now self-awareness and working on yourself help you grow and make life better.

It is worth it.

And it also makes you more responsible,

More deliberate,

More thoughtful,

Quieter.

It costs you excuses and the ability to move through life unconsciously.

So yes,

It's worth it.

And it's also okay to admit that it's hard sometimes.

That it doesn't come for free.
