This is why we chant OM,

Or in Eastern religions.

It is stated that creation arises from the first sound of the universe,

The primordial sound OM,

Spelled A-U-M,

Not O-M.

When chanted,

It actually is not O-M,

But it is A-U-M.

OM is said to be the sound that kicked off all of creation,

The key to creation,

The foundation of everything.

It is said to represent birth,

Life,

And death.

OM is the basic sound of the universe,

So by chanting it we are symbolically and physically acknowledging our connection to nature and all living beings.

We invoke God by chanting OM.

OM is an ancient Sanskrit word that translates to source.

It can be used interchangeably with the word God.

Each letter of the Sanskrit alphabet has a unique vibration,

Designed to affect the speaker of each word.

It is a sacred symbol and sound,

And OM is viewed as everything in the universe that has or will ever be manifested or exist.

It refers to the higher power within each of us.

This is why we chant OM.
