The full moon is luminous tonight.
She has gathered all of her light and she is offering it fully,
Completely,
Without holding anything back.
And that is exactly what the full moon asks of us in return,
To release.
To let go of what has been weighing us down,
What we have been carrying past its time,
What belongs to an older version of ourselves that we are in the process of outgrowing.
The full moon does not ask us to figure it all out or do it perfectly.
She simply says it is time to put it down.
I will hold the light while you do.
And tonight,
There is something specific I want us to release together.
The habit of making ourselves small.
The pattern of shrinking.
Of giving our power away in quiet,
Incremental ways of swallowing what we actually think.
Muting what we actually feel.
Stepping back when we actually wanted to step forward.
Of taking up less space that is genuinely ours because somewhere along the way we learned that taking up space was dangerous.
Tonight the full moon holds the light while we release that.
And we call back what has always been ours.
Find your position now and let your body settle completely into whatever is holding you.
Arms soft.
Jaw unclenched.
And when you are ready,
Close your eyes and look up toward the moon.
Even through closed eyelids,
Even through the ceiling above you.
She is there.
Luminous and full.
And completely present.
Breathe in through your nose.
Slowly and fully.
And imagine breathing in moonlight.
Cool and silver and pure.
Filling every part of you with something luminous.
And breathe out through your mouth.
Releasing and letting the exhale carry something with it.
Some small piece of what you have been holding that is ready to go.
Again breathe in moonlight.
And breathe out,
Release.
One more time.
Breathe in luminous and full.
And breathe out.
Releasing and free.
Good,
You are here,
The moon is here,
And tonight something is leaving that has stayed too long.
And now imagine that beam of soft silver moonlight.
Streaming down from the full moon above you,
Pure and luminous.
And completely gentle,
Finding its way through everything between you and the sky.
Until it touches the very crown of your head.
Feel it there now.
That particular quality of moonlight.
Warm and cool at once.
Illuminating and releasing at once.
Everywhere it touches,
Something loosens.
Something that has been held begins to soften and dissolve.
Feel the moonlight moving now down through your scalp.
The muscles there releasing,
The skin softening.
The moonlight gentle and persistent.
Finding every place that has been holding and inviting it to let go.
Down through your forehead now,
That space between your brows where so much vigilance lives.
So much monitoring and measuring and managing.
Feel the moonlight there.
Cool and silver and releasing.
Let it all go.
The monitoring,
The managing,
The quiet,
Exhausting vigilance.
Dissolving in the light.
Your eyes now heavy and soft.
And the moonlight moving across your closed eyelids like water,
Gentle and completely safe.
And your whole face bathed in that silver glow.
Growing still and peaceful and completely at rest.
Down through your jaw,
Releasing it.
Your lips softening.
And your whole face luminous and completely free.
The moonlight moving now into your neck and throat.
That tender place where so much gets swallowed,
So many words unsaid.
So many truths held back.
Feel the moonlight there.
Warm and releasing.
You do not have to hold any of it tonight.
Let it dissolve in the light.
Your shoulders now.
Feel the moonlight pooling there,
Heavy and warm and releasing.
Lower.
Lower still.
The moonlight finding every knot.
Every place of held tension,
Every piece of the world you have been carrying on these shoulders and gently,
Luminously inviting it to set itself down.
Release.
Down through your arms now.
The moonlight moving through your upper arms.
Your elbows.
All the way down through your forearms and wrists and the very tips of your fingers.
These hands that have given so much.
Let the moonlight restore them tonight,
Open and soft and completely at rest.
And now your chest.
Your heart.
The moonlight moves here with particular care because this is where so much of the shrinking lives.
And a tightening around the heart.
When we want to step forward but step back instead.
In the holding of breath when we want to speak,
But stay quiet instead.
In a drawing inward when we want to expand but make ourselves smaller instead.
Feel the moonlight here,
Now.
Warm and luminous and completely safe and with each breath feel it softening what has been held.
Releasing what has been braced.
Opening what has been closed.
Your heart growing luminous in the moonlight.
Expansive,
Brave,
Completely itself.
Release.
Your belly now,
Soft and open and completely unheld.
The moonlight moving through here like warm water.
Releasing any knots of anxiety.
Any held tension.
Any quiet dread that has been living here.
To solving it all in that silver light.
Down through your lower back and hips.
The moonlight warm and releasing.
And the surface beneath you receiving your full weight.
You are held here.
Completely and without condition.
The Moon above you,
The Earth below you.
Held between two great forces that have always had you.
And release.
Down through your thighs now.
The moonlight moving through your legs like warmth.
Your knees,
Your calves all the way down through your ankles and the soles of your feet and the very tips of your toes.
Your whole body now from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes bathed in moonlight.
Luminous and soft and completely released.
Every place that has been held is open.
Every place that has been tight is free.
Every place that has been small is expanding.
Gently.
And safely.
Into its full natural size.
This is your body in moonlight.
Luminous and free and completely itself.
Now I'm going to count slowly from 10 to 1 and with each number the moonlight deepens.
You go a little further into rest,
A little more open to receiving what tonight has to offer.
The moonlight deepening around you,
Warm and completely safe.
Nine,
Going deeper down.
Further into the luminous quiet.
Every breath carries you further.
Every exhale releases a little more.
Seven.
Deeper and deeper,
The mind growing as quiet as the moon.
Six.
Halfway there now.
Already so still,
So luminous.
Five,
The moonlight filling every part of you now,
Warm and releasing and completely safe.
Almost there now,
Drifting so gently and so completely into rest.
3.
.
.
Your subconscious wide open,
Receptive and ready to release and receive.
To SO CLOSE.
So deeply,
Peacefully held in the light.
And one.
One.
So still,
So luminous,
So completely and safely released.
Here you are.
In the deepest,
Most open place inside yourself.
Held by the moonlight above and the earth below.
Safe and luminous.
And completely free.
Rest here for just a moment.
Just breathe.
Just be.
You are held.
And now from this deep and luminous place,
I want to take you somewhere.
Imagine yourself standing outside under the full moon.
The sky above you is vast and dark and scattered with stars and the moon herself is enormous and luminous and completely full.
Her light falling on everything around you.
On the ground beneath your feet.
On your shoulders,
On your face.
You feel her light on your skin.
Warm and cool and completely real.
And in your hands,
Or perhaps somewhere near your heart,
You are holding something.
Something you have been carrying for too long.
It might be a belief about yourself.
Or it might be a habit.
Or it might simply be a weight.
That you have been so used to carrying you almost forgot it is there.
Feel what you are holding.
Feel the weight of it.
How long have you been carrying it?
How many moments has it shaped?
How many words it has swallowed.
How many steps forward it has stopped.
And now look up at the moon,
She is so full tonight,
So completely unapologetically herself.
She does not ask permission to be luminous.
She does not make herself smaller so the stars can feel more comfortable.
She simply shines with everything she has because that is what she is here to do.
And she is saying something to you tonight in the way that moons speak.
Which is through light and through feeling rather than through words.
She is saying,
You can put it down now.
Whatever you have been carrying.
Whatever has made you smaller than you are.
Whatever you have been holding past its time,
You can put it down right here,
Right now.
In this moonlit moment,
You can set it down and leave it here and walk forward without it.
So let yourself do that now.
In whatever way feels right.
Maybe you place it on the ground in front of you.
Maybe you open your hands and let it dissolve into the moonlight.
Maybe you simply exhale and feel it leave with the breath.
However it happens.
Let it go now.
Release.
And notice what happens in your body as you do.
Notice the space that opens.
The particular lightness of having set something down that you have been carrying for so long you forgot you were carrying it.
Breathe into that space and let it expand.
Let it become more of you.
And now stand a little taller in that space.
Feel the moon on your face.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
Feel the particular aliveness of a body that is taking up its full and natural space in the world.
This is you without the weight.
This is you in your actual size.
Luminous and grounded.
And completely yourself.
And now let your mind drift a little further forward to a version of your life where this has become your new normal.
You move through your days differently.
There is a groundedness in you,
A quiet confidence that comes not from arrogance,
But from simply being fully present in your own life.
From taking up the space that is genuinely yours.
You speak when you have something to say.
You hold your limits when they need to be held.
You step forward when something calls you forward.
And when the old habit arises,
The old pulls towards shrinking.
You feel it and you breathe and you choose differently.
Sometimes it is hard,
But you choose.
People notice something different about you.
They may not be able to name it exactly,
But they feel it.
Particular quality of someone who is genuinely present.
Who means what they say and says what they mean.
Who takes up their full space and invites others to take up theirs.
Your relationships are more honest,
More real,
Because you are more honest and more real in them.
Feel that.
Feel what it is like to be fully yourself in the world.
Luminous and grounded and completely safe to take up space.
Breathe it in.
Let it settle all the way down into the places that used to hold the shrinking.
Let it replace what you released tonight with something warmer and truer and completely your own.
You are safe to take up space.
You always were.
And now,
Slowly,
Luminously,
Your whole self is beginning to know it.
I release what no longer belongs to me and step into my full power.
Because I release,
I expand into the space that has always been mine.
Every day and in every way I am becoming more comfortable taking up my full space.
I am safe to take up space in my relationships and in my life.
Because I am safe,
I show up fully and honestly.
Every day and in every way I trust myself to be fully present.
I release the habit of shrinking and embrace the freedom of being fully myself.
Because I release the shrinking,
I am free to be everything I actually am.
Every day and in every way,
I am more grounded in my power.
I am courageous.
I am luminous.
I am completely myself.
Because I am completely myself,
I move through the world with ease and confidence.
Every day and in every way my courage grows stronger and my voice grows clearer.
The full moon witnesses my release and holds my becoming.
Because I am witnessed,
I am free to step into who I have always been.
Every day and in every way I am releasing what was never mine to carry.
I take up space.
I speak my truth.
I hold my limits with grace.
Because I hold my limits with grace,
My relationships become more honest and more real.
Every day and in every way I am living more fully in my own life.
I am safe.
I am Luminous.
I am free to take up space.
Because I am free,
I release and I expand and I shine.
Every day and in every way I am becoming more of who I truly am.
